These are great planes for new pilots
They can take many hard landings and have 3 modes of control to get you in the air quickly.
Stick with easy mode on the controller and learn how to use the safe mode to regain control and level flight.
(there's a reason why these are sold with and without a controller, you only need 1 controller)
Be sure to buy some extra batteries as they only offer about 8 minutes of airtime. ( sold here on amazon too)
Have some clear tape ready to repair cracks after collisions with your house, camper trailers, trees, and the lawn.
It's best to begin learning in a clear cut field as I tried flying in a 1/2 acre clear cut yard and it is tricky to stay out of the trees.
Like magic, the trees manage to attract these planes into the high branches and then you have to get creative in retrieving your plane.
My usual rescue tool is a nice ECHO 14" chain saw as the saplings are very reluctant to give up their new toy.
Also, only fly on calm days.
Be careful as a modest wind will quickly take control of your plane and it's a hop & skip into the nearest tree. DOH!

Best Hobby Plane Ever!

My husband's FAVORITE hobby plane. Bought this as a replacement after heavy use and abuse of the first. This does NOT come with the controller so if you don't have one, buy the slightly more expensive kit. He says he's never had such a fun, easy-to-fly plane.

This is my first R/C plane, and I gotta tell you, I'm having a blast with it! The SAFE button has saved me a ton of times--I can't imagine learning how to fly a plane without it. I try to get in some flying time nearly every day and I'm getting better and better, though I still find it fun and challenging as I try to fly it in a straight line or circle around me so slowly I could reach out and catch it if wanted (but don't). I also enjoy getting it real high and then cutting the throttle and letting it glide to the ground so smoothly and effortlessly. It's even fun to do that when there's a breeze blowing. In all, I highly recommend this plane for beginners.

My 6 year old daughter saved up her allowance and went 50/50 on this plane with me. When she first asked me about it I didn't think it was a good idea but she is persistent. We have owned this plane for a year and we both love it. Put it on beginner and she can fly it like a champ. It takes quite a beating. A little tape and a little glue will fix most things. The black lab played fetch with it once. You can buy new wings on Amazon. In expert mode you can do barrel rolls and loops. Great for all ages.
