Generic crap made in china
scott lyntonDecember 16, 2017
i purchased axes from home depot and lowes. Generic crap made in china. This beast of a destroyer from Germania.....does nothing but crush the majority of wood i split. What would take 30-50 strikes with the generic axe now takes only 1-5 strikes. I feel like i am in a "Game Of Thrones" episode wielding this monster. Worth every penny.......just make sure to tighten the bolts before every use. I broke a securing bolt on the head while chopping. That was my fault.....operator error. This is a excellent tool and worth every penny.
Extremely good quality axe

This item we purchased as a gift for my son. Now that he has had opportunity to use it, he LOVES it! Says it cuts through hardwood logs with ease. Extremely good quality axe! I will purchase another Helko for my husbands use to replace his other brand axe.
Very effective splitter

This one big mofo. I regularly use a powered splitter, but damn this is too much fun. Easily split 10-24 inch and up rounds in Ponderosa and Log Pole Pine with this beast. There is a learning curve when it comes to control and power. You need to be in reasonable physical condition to swing it. Couch potatoes, stay away, you will just hurt yourself. There is nothing like splitting on a Montana morning at 5,000 feet in the Bitterroot. Buy it if you qualify.
Yeah.. Its just that awesome.

Quality tool.
I had few wet logs that were 4'(tall)x1.5'. I wasnt expecting it being so easy.
Literally 4 strikes to break it in half.

A little heavy, but amazing! Faster than using a pneumatic wood splitter and a great workout at the same time!! The craftsmanship it great, expensive but I am so glad I decided to spend the extra money...by the way I bought a Fiskars log splitter too and although it is a fine tool also (and really sharp) the Helko is real craftsmanship and does a better job (probably because of the weight).
