I recently bought the pink one for my 1st grader and the back pack is completely falling apart. It has only been 4 months of light weight use and the side pocket is already ripped and the material on the inside is flaking off. I don't understand what happened to the quality because I had bought the same brand in black 2 years ago for my now 3rd grader and the back pack has held up pretty well aside for the little zipper tag falling off. It is still in use with heavy books sometimes.

I have purchased 5 backpacks for our daughter. She is rather hard on them because her textbooks are rather thick, and she is in 6th grade.
I had low expectations for this and expected to have to shell out a small fortune on a hiking or college or commuter backpack for her.
However, this is a hardy one. It carries her books, notebooks, spirals, library books, and even her folded coat. The handles are padded as well as the straps. It is also not small but medium large.

My preschooler daughter has had this backpack since the start of the school year. It has held up great, even after stuffing it full of snow gear and her cot bedding. This backpack is more stylish then the cheesy character backpacks and I know it will last longer too. Plenty of room for a grade schooler. No one in her class had one like it. I got this bag for my five year old last year. She is in first grade now, and still using it. It is holding on very well. I love the different compartments and the bottle holders on the side. They are very sturdy. Nothing has broken so far. My daughter loves the colors and the design. It is a little bit big on her, but she is a small child. So if you do have a pettit child, you might want to consider getting a smaller size backpack. The straps are adjustable, and the backpack is easy to clean. I have never put it into the washing machine, and I am not planning on it. I usually wipe it down with a wet cloth, a baby wipe, or a clorox wipe. I guess all I can say is that I am well pleased.

My 7 year old daughter is in love with this bookbag. I am really impressed with how well it is made. Lots of pockets and great detail. She is getting to that age now, where she doesnt need character bags so I went with this one. Great quality for the price. It is not a very large book bag. This is the size that a elementary school child would need. Perfect size to fit their books and binders.
