My favorite kind of jerky used to be Tengu brand... and I can't really find them anywhere in the US anymore (unless you are in Hawaii). I've purchased many many different kinds in the past and none satisfied me. I mean, vast majority of jerky sold are moist and sticky - not the kind I was looking for. After several years of search, I finally found this and decided to give a try based on some other reviews claiming they are "dry" and "tough". THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! And it sure does remind me of Tengu beef jerky. YUM.
If you like the wet kind of jerky you can get at any grocery store... this is not for you. But if you like the real tough and chewy dry kind of jerky, you are in luck! Get these!!

I don't get what it is with this trend of jerky that's soft and squishy, but I can't stand it. I was so happy to find this stuff. Takes a good while to chew and has a nice flavor.
I've been going through some health problems lately, and this is the only stuff I've been able to keep down.

I like when I buy something that it comes as advertised. I like the chewier, drier jerky. This isn't slick or moist. This lets the beef taste come through instead of the seasonings most producers soak into they're product. I highly recommend if you want traditional jerky. Yummy!

Tired of chewy soft jerky everywhere. That stuffs dog food, not real jerky. This is what I consider proper jerky. Dry, thin, spicy and hard. Very good taste and medium salt level. However, twice as much as other brands. Jerky quest continues.

First, it is probably my favorite jerky right now. It is old 'fashion' style so it is pretty dry and tough. Even though it says hot is is only slightly and not crazy like some others out there.
Con, is I wish it came in a bigger bag.
I'll be buying 2 or 3 bags to keep since it is easy to eat the whole bag as it isn't very large.
