This set fell apart after less than a week.

This review is for the Franklin Vintage Croquet Set: My husband and I did quite a bit of research before this purchase. At over a hundred dollars, we thought that this set would be good quality. Boy were we wrong! We put it together, and it seemed solid. The mallets were large and heavy- almost too heavy for our seven year old, but we were pretty happy with everything... until we played our first game!!!! The wood started chipping and splitting. Then, one of the mallet heads completely splintered off of the handle. Unfortunately, whatever wood they used to make these pieces from is poor quality. We were very disappointed with this product. Thank goodness for amazon and their refund policy!
Better than expected for the price

Used it once and had fun with no issues. Two of the six handles would not screw into the mallet as the threads were not right. Was able to get them together, permanently, with some tools and elbow grease. The storage bag is pretty useless for the entire set unless you want to unscrew the six mallets each time you store it, which in my case isn't possible now because of those two mallets mentioned above. Honestly better than I expected for the price overall.
Meh, I'm disappointed with this set.

I got the intermediate set. We have had a couple of different croquet sets over the years. We found this one to be average to low in quality. I am concerned with how well these would hold up if we were to store them in the bag after every use. When screwing them together some of the threads are chipped and some of the holes aren't drilled out very well. I think this mostly has to do with inferior wood as there's a lot of chipped pieces. Several of the mallets need quite a bit of force to get screwed together.
So for the price of 26 bucks I'm not thrilled with these. They'll do but we have to leave them assembled which defeats the purpose of having a storage bag. I think that's what has me most frustrated with this set. Storing them has become a burden. I wish I had shopped around and purchased one with the storage rack. On the bright side I don't have to worry about my four children ruining a nice croquet set. SMH
This one might make it through 2 summers if we're lucky.

Loved the look, but the stand does no function well. It does not roll well at all. The makers are difficult to get into place. The stand was broken in arrival, not packed well. My husband modified the stand after the repair work. It works a bit better, but overall not pleased with it. Still love the look, i wish it worked better. FYI, if you order one, allow 3 months before you use it. If it arrives broken, the replacement may not arrive in time. We ordered in plenty time for our event, but the replacement for the broken one would have arrived a month later.
Broken parts 3 games in. Not made well.

My family bought the Intermediate set for me for Father's Day - as a kid I grew up playing croquet with a set we had for many years.
This set appears to have smaller croquet balls etc. Within the first round, one of the white plastic end pads on the mallets split on the side, by the 3rd game another started. The balls we used seem to be getting gouges with only minor contact - no one has even tried to send the balls off after contact as we did when I was a kid, so that's concerning.
Finally, at the end of the 3rd game, my 9 year old daughter started her way back from the far post. She has a tough time getting enough power to move the ball any distance at all. When she hit the post right at the bottom near the ground to send her ball through the first two wickets, the post broke in half 6 or 8 inches up the shaft. When I looked at the other post I see it has several splits starting going up along the length of the shaft.
Again: 3 games in, with very light and non-aggressive use.
This set has no resilience - I'm going to initiate a return and try something different.
