Great idea with OK execution

Those of us with sleep challenges can find music, podcasts, audio books and white noise helpful.
SleepPhones steps up with a soft headband and well-positioned min-speakers (rather than in-ear buds) that works quite well. Other reviewers have good tips for positioning the headband over your ears.
After frequent use, two issues came up.
The first is the breakdown of the stress relief ribs near the plug that goes into your device. On my SleepPhones, the material cracked, which I initially repaired with a couple of drops of super glue. That has given way and I am now going to try to repair with some electrical shrink tubing. Given the intended use for this product, it would seem a right angle plug would be a better choice than the provided straight plug.
The second issue is a kink that has appeared near the point where the cable attaches to the headband. The cable has broken out of its fabric covering, forming a small c-shaped kink. This is less serious than the first issue, but I'm afraid it may eventually cause the cord to fail.
Overall, a very good idea--I hope the maker will adopt improvements.

I have tinnitus and I like to watch TV to go to sleep without disturbing ...

I have tinnitus and I like to watch TV to go to sleep without disturbing my wife. I have a Roku 3 and use the headphone jack on the remote. I've tried to sleep with headphones, and probably 8 different style ear buds, and they all became very uncomfortable or kept falling out whn I moved, often before I even fell asleep. And then I'd wake up in the middle of the night trying to take them off and then was kept awake by the discomfort they caused.
I have none of that now. These sound great, and I'm actually pleased that they don't block ambient noise; I can still hear the thunderstorms or the rhythmic sound of my wife's breathing as I watch Netflix. My daughter is thrilled that I now can experience the frustration of finding the most comfortable way to wear a headband, which is exacerbated by having to make the speakers line up with your ears, but it's a far more minor annoyance than is caused by the alternative devices I've tried.

Convenient, but Not Truly Comfortable

I've been using these a little over a year, now. While truly convenient,I believe some further development is gonna be necessary before these things reach any level of quality and true comfort.
Comfort: Descriptions that you "can't feel" the speakers aren't accurate. You most certainly can feel the speakers through the fabric when laying on your side. Furthermore, the construction is such that there is a slit in the back through which you can remove/install the speakers for easy cleaning of the band. Unfortunately, the slit is sealed with velcro. Velcro isn't comfortable, folks ... and it tears things up. That velcro also creates a bulge which is uncomfortable on the back of your head. So, lying down with your ear facing the pillow, the speaker generates discomfort; lying down such that you're facing up, the velcro and bulge generate discomfort to the back of your head. I suppose you could try sleeping face-down =)
Longevity: As I previously mentioned, the velcro on the headband is uncomfortable, but also destructive. As you remove the speakers for cleaning, the velcro does ever more damage to the surrounding area. Though the sewing appears to be sound, and actually quite thorough (uncommon, these days), the velcro is slowly tearing away at the edges where it meets the cloth around the slit.
Overall, the SleepPhones have provided me with the convenience I was looking for, and still require, but the discomfort and hassle are certainly notable, though obviously not enough such that I stopped using them. I'm personally still looking for a more comfortable product, and hope that AcousticSheep can further develop this product to become more comfortable.

The overall quality is pretty decent. Better than just so-so, but not 5-star amazing.
Pros:
The cord is braided to help ensure a longer life and less tangles. This is great since it will take more of a beating than a pair of headphones you wear just sitting around. The cord is also longer than most headphones. Great to plug them into something that's not directly next to you. The material is plenty soft and comfortable enough that it is comfortable enough to wear for hours. The headphones can be re-positioned inside the headband as well. Helpful to ensure they can be positioned exactly where you need them, and they can be removed to wash the headband when needed. The sewing also seems strong enough to hold up well.
Considerations/Cons:
The headphones themselves need to be placed directly over your ears. Otherwise, you have to turn the volume to max to hear softer sounds (ie soft sounds, or while there are external environmental noises). But once in place there's no problem with the sound. The headphones can be re-positioned inside the headband, but this allows them to move around if it's not tight enough on your head. Again, that's only if it's not tight enough on you. Otherwise, that shouldn't be a problem.
Again, I am happy with these and feel that they were a good purchase for the money.

Not great for side sleepers.

I have a hubby who is a BIG snorer, so I was hoping this would be a solution. Sadly, I can't use these anymore:
PROS:
- Soft fabric.
- Comfy, stretchy fit.
- Easy to put on when you are half asleep.
- Long cord allows you to leave the phone on your side table charger.
CONS:
- Lumpy speakers are uncomfy to sleep on if you sleep on your side. It feels a bit like sleeping on a jar lid?
- Volume all the way up does not really drown out Captain snorey-pants.
- Speakers are rather muffly. Hard to listen to pod casts
- Because it's a "band," it can rotate around your head, and then the speakers are not in the right spot.
- Yep, the cord totally wraps around your neck. I did not think this would bother me after reading other reviews, but it is rather creepy to wake up with a cord around your neck...
Overall, I would recommend asking around to see if you can borrow one from a friend before you buy. It just did not work out for me :(
