Smells great, and its easy to apply
Chris Latsch✓ Verified Purchase•July 23, 2017
Smells great, and its easy to apply. Adds a good amount of shine, like a regular oil, and the lime scent is rather refreshing. Easily one of my favorite balms. I also have very dry skin, so it keeps flakes at bay. I just scrape out a little more than a quarter sized amount since I have about 2.5-3 years of beard, warm it up between my hands, and rub throughout my beard, making sure to get down to the skin. I'll use a brush to spread it more evenly and shape it just how i want it. Keeps those stray hairs in check also.
Great product, but not a fan of the citrus scent.

The product itself deserves 5 stars, so that is how I will rate it. It's essentially a beard oil that is solid at room temperature, but melts easily on your hands and distributes like a liquid oil. It absorbed quickly, helps to soften and style (though there is no real hold), and I have had no issues with skin irritation or a heavy / greasy feeling after just a few minutes of applying.
However, I am not a fan of the 'Initiative / Citrus' scent. I was hoping for a clean, light, lemon / lime scent, but to me it smells almost exactly like a citronella candle. If you like that, definite 5 stars. If not, try a different scent. The scent was strong (but not unpleasantly so) for an hour or two, but faded rapidly, though I would catch whiffs of it throughout the day when sweating.
I think I am going back to the "woodsy" one, I enjoyed that scent much more.

Best beard care products out there!

I'm new to the world that is the almighty and powerful BEARD! Mine isn't yet a full beard, but a very full goatee; the rest is still trying to catch up. I learned of CanYouHandlebar from the Punisher Life website - they have a Punisher Life version of their beard oil. I instead went to the CYHB full website to check out their full line, and bought several products to try. In a word...WOW! I never knew anything about beard care, but now that I do, I'll never be caught without it.
I bought a few things: Wisdom and Honor in the stainless steel 1oz flasks; one ounce of Temperance in the amber bottle; the horse hair beard brush; and Wisdom in "dry" oil (beard butter). Every product is absolutely amazing. No greasy residues, no pungent odors, and no allergy issues (though make sure you check to make sure you're not allergic to the ingredients - all natural doesn't mean no allergies). In fact, the scents remind me of an old world rustic outdoor setting (Initiative), or - with both Wisdom and Honor - of sitting by a fireplace in an aged leather chair smoking a tobacco pipe while reading theology surrounded by dusty tomes and jamming to Mozart. Class and sophistication come to mind without being pretentious.
In short, these are impeccable beard care products that are all natural, soothing, and smell great. Your spouse will thank you for it. But get good combs, too. I have Kent 20T and 87T hand-made varieties and believe me a quality comb makes a huge difference.
These oils wiped out beard dandruff, dry and itchy skin, and stimulates blood flow to the follicles to promote a healthy and lusterful beard. Do your beard a favor...get CanYouHandlebar products. You won't be let down.

Proud of How Good My Beard Looks
Dustin M.✓ Verified Purchase•December 15, 2015
This product was the difference between shaving off my beard or keeping it. It has just enough hold to tame bushiness but still keep my beard touchable and the skin underneath soft and hydrated. The scent is gentle but really, really pleasant (so pleasant it has turned my beard into a scent-sanctuary in a smelly environment more than once). I use it with the beard brush and it is super easy to apply. I look like a well-groomed gentleman instead of the Unabomber. My wife adores my beard, and this product, and will actually nuzzle my face with hers now because my beard is so soft and fragrant. Incredibly pleased.
An excellent solution for unruly beards
Franco✓ Verified Purchase•November 15, 2015
I live in a high-humidity environment, so my beard has a tendency toward being a bit unruly and frizzy. After doing a bit of research, I found CanYouHandleBar's Beard Dry Oil as a potential solution. I ordered this (I chose the lemon-scented Dry Oil) along with their beard brush, and received both very quickly. Both products come in handsome brushed aluminum tins, which are very classy. You need only a small amount of dry oil on the brush to cover your entire beard; I lightly rotate the brush in the dry oil, and that's plenty. The brush is nice and dense, so it distributes the dry oil very deeply and thoroughly throughout my beard. It's very effective at brushing down and taming unruly hairs. I've heard some people complain about the scent, but I quite enjoy it. It's a tad bit strong for the first hour of the day, but wears off to just a hint of lemon scent after that. My only real complaint - and I realize this is silly - is that it's maybe a bit too oily. After I use my phone, there's beard oil all over the screen, and when the ladies run their hands through by beard, it leaves a slight residue on their hands. I understand that it's the point of beard oil, but I wish it were slightly more dry, and slightly less oily.
