I expect more from Aldi's Not worth more than $15
Laura FineJune 12, 2017
Picked this up new and cheap. They have some of the best foods and best made items....usually. Not here. I should have known. Needed something to help dehydrate dog treats. Takes 13-15 hours to dehydrate sweet potatoes and by the time they are done, they are already starting to mold. Using this scares me. It gets incredibly hot on the bottom, and the bottom trays have melted onto the heating elements. Before this happened it was used infrequently, but never managed to actually completely dehydrate anything I tried very well. When it managed to do that, it was only on the bottom rack, and only in the center. Racks are numbered so you have to keep track of which one you put where. Not impressed. Id like to recycle it asap!!!!

I bought mine from Aldi to use to dehydrate placentas because I encapsulate them as a business service.
I use parchment paper & rotate my trays since that's what's recommended. I have used it like10 times with no problems. It is perfect for what I use it for...not food, but to make pills from a dehydrated organ.
Perhaps those using it are not rotating the trays as recommended & not using the ventilator properly. Just a thought...the product works awesome for me.
I do wonder the temp though cause I wanna make sure I'm dehydrating over 165°...hmmm?
That is all!
Mine Works Great

This is my first food dehydrator. Got it really cheap at Aldi and figured I'd go inexpensive to see if I'll actually use it and if it works.
I'm a little worried now that I've read these reviews.
However, mine works great. I've dried many kinds of fruit and love the results. I wonder if the users of the faulty ones had been rotating the trays regularly. My only concern is whether I'm using the vents properly.
Not safe for home use a faulty fire hazard

After 11 hours of use the top rack and the very bottom rack and middle racks melted
Dangerous to your health if you eat food from this!

I was so anxious to come down stairs this morning to try my dehydrated strawberries. They dried perfectly overnight. I started eating them and they're perfect; then my throat got scratchy and I started choking. I happen to catch a glimpse at the underside of a strawberry and saw that the plastic grate marks literally melted into the strawberry. The entire "grill" mark is filled with shiny toxic plastic. Trust me, it is not just typical grill marks, it is embedded plastic. PLEASE, AMAZON STOP SELLING THIS DANGEROUS PRODUCT! Look at my PICTURES!!
