This hat is absolutely foldable and repels rain! Don't try to put it under your hood to work as a visor, as rain will travel down it into your jacket. Should have realized this but didn't. Otherwise does everything it says to does.The brim is a perfect circle, so the hat is very round. Kind of looks funny but hey, it keeps you dry. Very simple to travel with too.

I have a small head, so I am fine with my purchase, but if you have a larger size head, this will not work for you! It frees up my arms to push the stroller! The adjustable strap is a necessity for wind! No fumbling with umbrella..this and a raincoat...and I push that stroller all over the city! I must tell you...it looks pretty goofy. My husband is pretty embarrassed by me in it...but I don't care! I walk around NYC and no one cares...the suburban moms may have something to say...but do I really care about that? lol

Folds neatly around springy wire in brim to take almost no room packed, and yet give good rain protection when worn. Don't know what it would take to get it a fifth star, but it feels a little too light to feel substantial ~ in all other respects it is a terrific item.
