I have used paperport for many years. After upgrading fron the 9 version and getting a new Windows 10 computer I decided it was time to upgrade. I read the reviews and found a lot of people were unimpressed, but I found that in my particular case that it installed with no problems and, pulled all of my backup files into a seamless upgrade. I found that it also recognized my Canon printer/scanner. It can be a little buggy but I am happy overall

Been using it for years. Decent organization for the money. Interface is a bit dated, but still usable.
I've searched and for my home needs it's about the best I could find. Much more affordable here
than from the manufacturer, a lot cheaper here.

I've been using Paperport for many years. It's a little buggy--crashes unexpectedly every once in a while. But, overall, I keep coming back because it has all the features I need for image processing 98% of the time, and the price of around $50 makes it well worth it. I have 3 scanners that I use regularly. For some reason, one of the scannders doesn't play well with Paperport, but once my items are scanned, Paperport's features are invaluable (OCR, PDF annotation, file conversion, image adjustment, etc.).

Update: I tried FileCenter as a replacement of this buggy Paperport version. It is great. It does exactly what it is supposed to do without any drama, bugs. It has good and quick (US) customer support. Interface is clean and both of my scanners were functional in no time flat. Contrast that with the 3 weeks i spend with Paperport customer support to make my scanners work again when upgrading to version 14. FileCenter does not lock up like Paperport. This is the way to go!!

As a long time user of a much older version I finally updated. I like the concept of paperport and have used it for 20 years or so. The new version has a problem with file folders that have many lots of files. I talked to Nuance about it 6 months ago. They said they were aware of the issue, but so far they have not done anything about it. I had to split up m y folder structure to accommodate the problem, not very good.

There were a few other setup issues for which I needed support. They got everything going properly, but it took a lot of calls until I finally found a support guy (in the Philippines) who understood the issue and fixed it.

Make sure you get the patches available.

Update: a year later, going down to one star, it is just too buggy. Things I complained about a year ago and that were acknowledged by support arr still not fixed. Tonight it started freezing up and I can not find a way out, after spending a couple of hours with it. Similar issue as a year ago. This is supposed to make things easier, not more complicated. Too bad. I can hardly imagine it would be too difficult to fix. It just another version of windows explorer.. It seems Nuance has dropped product development completely for PP.

I've been using PP for years. Just upgraded to 14 Professional due to a new consulting project I just completed. Made it easy to revamp floor plans and update footage & room/area identifications. I like that everything can be adjusted in PP then shared as PDF and PP can open and allow editing of PDF files as well.
