My 8 year old daughter absolutely loves these. Only thing I can say is that they are pretty big. Her feet barely stay in them and she had blisters and skin worn off her feet in some places after swimming with them for a while.

We got this for our daughter for her 7th birthday. She has loved it, and learned to swim very well with it. After several years of use, the hard plastic cracked right in the center. If it was curved instead of a point in the center, I'm quite certain that it would not have cracked. However, with all the use and fun she got from it, I still give it five stars. Her feet are now a size 7, and this fin is now too small, it is too tight in the toe area.

I bought this for my daughter's 8th birthday. We have a pool so are swimming all the time. She was so excited to get this! I only gave this 3 stars because it's adorable and a great idea however it doesn't stay on my daughter's feet. It keeps falling off so much that my daughter ends up throwing it out of the pool and playing with something else. A bit disappointing. They need to re-design how this is attached and come up with a better system so it stays on and can be enjoyed.

I tried this mermaid tale on my two daughters (ages 6 & 8) and their cousin (age 7) an NONE of them keep the tale on their feet. Either it was too loose and would slip off immediately or too tight for their feet. I think the reason they had problems was because their feet have to share one compartment. In addition, if the strap that holds the feet unravels then it's almost impossible to put it back in without tools, which would be very difficult to do when we are in the pool. My 9 year old daughter loves Mermaids, so she wanted the whole suit for her birthday so she could feel like a mermaid. I was a bit afraid to get the whole suit for safety reasons, so I began my search for a reasonable priced fin that has great reviews. I found this was one of the cheapest offered on Amazon and it had mostly great reviews. My daughter opened it and absolutely loved everything about it and so did all the other little girls at the party. The pink and purple was a plus because that's her favorite colors. She wears a big girl shoe size 2 and there was still room behind her heel. I did like how it has the strap that is easily released in an emergency. The final itself is hard plastic. I read some reviews that others had snapped in half, but after a month use, ours looks a little bent from her standing on it in the pool, but hasn't snapped or cracked.
One thing I would recommend is to store it separately so the back strap dries and so it doesn't get damaged among the other pool toys. I would definitely recommend this for any little mermaid lover. I would not recommend it to children who are swimming in a pool over their head or who are too young to release the emergency strap on their own.
