There seems to be a fair number of folks new to the French Press process. I can tell you, they all work on the same principle. I had a glass one for over 4 years that I recently broke. This seemed like the right one to get and avoid that happening again. But the coffee tasted the same as this one, and that is great!
True, no plastic here. But my Bodum was a glass press in a plastic decorative container. The knob that you press down with was also plastic.
Never an issue, I don't quite understand the concern over plastic parts, but so be it. This one is all stainless anyway.
i also have some reservations about the double screens. It works just fine, but when I use just one scree as I always have the past, I don't get grounds in my coffee. The 'grind' is everything! Grinders vary, but you really need to use a rotary grinder with a wheel. Not a blade grinder. A blade grinder works ok if you just want a very fine grind for a drip coffee maker, but if you want something coarser like medium for a press, you don't want to use a blade grinder, the results are never consistent IMO.
Also, don't pour boiling water over the coffee. The water should be 'off the boil' or with a lot of bubbles just starting to break the surface. Use filtered water if possible. Mix the grounds gently around the top, put the cap on but DO NOT press down. Wait 4 min, press down easily, and Enjoy! I use 6 rounded measuring spoon fulls. With this one liter, you should be able to produce 3 average size cups of coffee, or 2 mugs filled about 3/4.

Outstanding press! Not much on style, but is very good in function. If they would increase the insulating capability and therefore the length of time it would keep coffee HOT, it would then become excellent in function. No complaints though, highly recommend if you are looking for French Press Coffee Maker that is "insulated" and will maintain temperature better than the glass models. I have used this coffee maker daily for over six months, don't recall when purchased, we make as many as four or five pots a day on the weekends and two on weekdays (one morning, one evening) and have had absolutely no problems with it. Typically wipe down the outside with wet rag, and wipe the interior surfaces with a dry paper towel a time or two per week. We will hand wash once in a while but do not put in the dishwasher, though I believe it would do fine if you wanted too (don't recall the mfr.'s recommendation on dishwasher). If you would like a smaller French Press and one with a little bit of class or flair, I would recommend FP Coffee Maker French Press Coffee Maker w/ Insulated Stainless Steel Carafe: Double walled thermal carafe; 8 cup / 34 oz capacity (currently unavailable on Amazon at time of this writing).

Not a single grain of coffee or loose tea leaf has escaped into my cup. This press works great.... makes a great cup of coffee. The double wall does keep the brew hot for about an hour or so. After about 90 minutes though, I find the brew is barely warm... not hot as I like it. So if there is one improvement to be had... a thicker double wall for more effective heat retention. However, with that said... still love it. Sleek, simple design and great tasting coffee.
