I got this filter for the Gourmia coffee siphon. It works well! Much easier to clean and feels overall more hygienic than those cloth filters. I notice there is SOME coffee residue that gets through the filter that I didn't notice with the cloth filter but it's very small. It's overpriced at $24 but I'm glad I got it instead of more cloth filters.

the spring isn't really strong enough, so at a slow boil, the filter bounces, causing grinds to fall into the coffee, unless you are holding it down with your stirring stick. works well enough, but it is hands on during the brewing process.

Excellent filter but a little difficult to handle. When you drop it into the upper chamber the chain extends all of 1/4 inch below the stem so you need to pinch the thing between your fingernails to pull it down. The spring is stronger than the one on the standard filter and with wet hands it feels like it could easily pop loose while you try to fasten the hook, and the glass ending up shattered on the floor. Too bad the cheapskates who designed the thing wouldn't put out a few pennies to make a longer chain.
