Very impressed with the quality and performance of this Delsey luggage
Nancy✓ Verified Purchase•January 22, 2024
Very impressed with the quality and performance of this product.
I had previously bought another suitcase made by Delsey for a 3 week European vacation during which it performed admirably, and so when I was looking to buy another piece of luggage, I gave preference to the Delsey brand.
Having traveled for many years, I had always used traditional soft-sided ballistic nylon pieces, but, after seeing a lot of people in airports using the hard-sided cases, I was open to trying that type of suitcase.
When it arrived, I was happy to note how light it was, despite appearing to be very well made. The nylon and zippers all seemed like they were good quality, and I found the lock mechanism interesting (if a little intimidating at first because I had never seen that type before). The lock was very easy to work once I read the directions.
On to the actual use... I like the way the two compartments are laid out - one has a nylon zip covering to contain contents, with an integrated zip pocket, the other has an adjustable strap that spans the entire space, plus a small zip pouch. On the way to our destination in the Caribbean, I had the suitcase packed completely full, and it weighed just under 40 lbs. On the way back, it was over-packed with the expandable zipper let out and stuffed to capacity, and still was only 46 lbs.
We traveled to 2 small Caribbean islands on regional carriers, and the bag was handled many times at the airport and in transit numerous times. I noticed a few surface scratches, but nothing out of the ordinary. The handles are very comfortable, and the wheels are smooth and the bag is very easy to maneuver.
On the way back, an entire 5th of rum exploded in the suitcase, and because it was hard-sided, the majority of it dribbled out the bottom. The contents were hardly affected because they were encased in plastic compression bags, and only part of the nylon lining got rum on it. A big benefit of the bag being hard sided plastic, most of the rum ran out and was not soaked up as it would have been with a fabric bag.
On the whole, I could not be happier with this luggage and wholeheartedly can recommend it, as well as being most impressed with both Delsey products we have purchased.

Very satisfied with this luggage

I have traveled a LOT with the 21" Carry-on and 25" checked bag sizes. This excellent luggage is easy to pack and holds up well to abuse.
It shows the abuse, but that's normal for hardside luggage. Everything still works great. I haven't had any issues with the wheels, handles, or zippers.

I love this case. It is small but holds a lot more than you would think.
First, it opens like a clamshell. Opened, it has 2 main compartments, one with a zip cover, the other with straps to keep things in place..
Also, it has several zip envelope areas that can hold things like hosiery, ties, jewelry, etc...
This bag also has another compartment accessed from the outside that is big enough for a laptop. The only downside is that this compartment is right against one face of the main compartment inside so, if you pack the inside very tightly, you will be limited in what you can comfortably put in the outside compartment.
The outside compartment zips around on 3 sides and folds out on the front of the case. It can be a nice place for a laptop, work files, magazines, that kind of thing. It can be tight but I've not had any problems using it.
The 4 wheel sets are very good quality, mounted with a magnet alignment designed to keep them straight while you are walking which makes guiding the suitcase effortless.
Also, the suitcase can be leaned back on 2 wheels when necessary to pull like you would a 2 wheel case.
The handle is cushioned and very comfortable to hold and lift the suitcase with.
I am just over 6 feet tall and the handle can be raised to a nice height for me. There are several points where this can be lifted for comfort as well.
The case is a hard shell that is pretty durable so far. I've flown with this bag several times and it has not gotten dinged or marked at all.
It also has a nice combination locking zipper system that keeps the main compartment secured. You can still access the outside zip pocket while the lock is engaged. The combination to the lock can be reprogrammed as many times as you want and the TSA can access the contacts with a special key so they do not have to damage your case if necessary to access the contents.
I am VERY happy with this bag. I am sure it will serve us well.

Nice overhead-bin friendly bag
AC✓ Verified Purchase•December 17, 2023
Normally I check luggage, but for a recent 3-day/3 night trip, I wanted a hard-sided bag that I could be sure would fit in some of the smaller overhead bins, since I couldn't risk lost clothing. The size and reviews of this bag led me to purchase this one, and I do like it immensely.
I do have two small issues about it, though: the extension handle and how you have to fight for space for that zip-up front pocket.
The extension handle did feel a little flimsier than other bags I've owned, but not excessively so. But my bigger problem was the slight flares to the side of the handle made it difficult for my smaller Lo & Sons tote to be easily slid on an off the bag. Made the bag nice and secure, of course, but awkward when I'm trying to separate them to get into a cab or when I'm on the jetway or in the plane aisle. I have never had that problem with other rolling bags, so it could just be a mismatch of brands here, but if your chosen bag has a very snug fit on extension handles, know this could be a little awkward.
The front zipper pouch is great, but ultimately, even if you lightly pack the interior side of that pocket, even a small amount of items can leaves you with fairly little space in the exterior side. I pretty much just fit a tablet, a travel USB block, and some thin paper items. But if you're expecting to put all your electronics there, that won't really be possible unless everything is very slender. (A lot of my electronics went into my tote instead.) Just make sure to put only soft items on the interior side for a little give, though, and you should be able to fit a laptop and power source.
Otherwise, I loved the dark red color I ordered, the zippers felt pretty smooth, I liked the zip-around cover on the other side which kept everything nice and secure, I always appreciate a built-in lock, and the little pocket for an AirTag/Tile was appreciated.
