A Well-Made Ocarina, On-key

This is a WELL-MADE Ocarina. It is made of a ceramic that is thicker and heavier (slightly) than other ocarinas I have tried. This is the 2nd Ocarina I have bought from TOTMC. Upon playing it, I could tell it was on key and held the notes as it should. If you are considering a purchase of an Ocarina, I would highly recommend this one. Ocarinas are fairly easy to play, they sound similar to flute.
Great looks, but not in tune

Perfect for a looky-loo, or just a collector of Zelda stuff (me) BUT if you wish to play this instrument, don't count on it being in tune as it was mass produced. For playing, you need a handcrafted one. A bit, (sometimes a lot) more expensive, being in tune makes learning less frustrating. Much of the learning will be by ear. If you can't train your ear to a proper tune, you always feel like you are failing. very frustrating. Ask any 5th grader that has to learn an instrument, sounding good matters, even if you only play for yourself. With a proper instrument your confidence will be boosted, and you will WANT to play more. Make practice fun and not just a chore.
Beautiful ocarina. Might be a bootleg?

Beautiful ocarina. I do believe this is a bootleg though, the box has Zelda but wouldn't you think it should come with a Zelda music note sheet? It was a good price and sounds nice. The ocarina was packaged in a well stuffed box with styrofoam plates. I can keep my ocarina safely stored and don't have to buy a case for it. Maybe later at another time.

Maybe, research a bit more if you want the ethentic ocarina that looks familiar like this one. But if you want to go cheap, get this one. I played Zelda's lullaby and it sounded nice. Practise makes perfect!

This thing is awesome, it works really well for me. I think it's possible that some people just can't play it though, my wife has a really hard time with it but I picked it up and just started playing it with almost no learning curve. At the very least it's a great novelty item to show off to your friends that love Zelda games.

For the price, this is a fantastic piece of craftsmanship. I'm a big fan of the Ocarina of Time, and am thrilled with this purchase. I am not musically inclined, so I can't comment thoroughly on the quality of sound coming from this instrument. I will say that I tried blowing on it lightly to keep the noise down (I didn't want to bother those around me) and had some issues with consistency. After I blew on it a little harder the sound was crisp and clean, at least to my ears. For the price you will be hard pressed to find something this pretty
