I have achieved good, solid

One of the rare product that over-delivers. These crimpers actually have 6 settings, not just the 5 listed in the literature. The unlisted size is 16mm^2. I have achieved good, solid, crimps for 1/0 wire and now 4 gauge. The 16mm^2 gives a very good, tight crimp on the 4 gauge lugs. These crimpers do require a bit of force to work, but nothing excessive. I like that they do not have any loose parts/dies as the hydraulic crimpers do. I considered filing the dies a bit so they would match exactly with the AWG sizes, but I have not found that to be necessary.

I've ALWAYS wanted a tool that does this but never willing to pay the big bucks. On occassion (when I work on a car stereo system) I need to crimp a lug on a 4 gauge wire...so I go on a wild goose chase looking for someone with a crimper. Someone even said "just do it old-school and smack the lug with a hammer on the floor". No thanks, I ain't Fred Flinstone. Well, that wild goose chase is over! It's really nice that you can adjust the head to find the size that's right. Easy crimping, I even did it with one arm and pressed it againt my body. And this purchase came with a cutter that cut the wire like butter. Very rarely am I THIS HAPPY about a purchase on Amazon. Great quality, I'll definitely purchase again as gifts.

These are perfect for automotive electronic work. I used them when installing a new alternator charging circuit in my classic car and it crimped my 8ga connectors perfectly. The cable cutters are an added bonus and work great.

This thing is awesome, not only does it do perfect crimps it also is very well built. This was an essential tool, to upgrade my jeeps battery cables to 0 gauge. It also makes the perfect crimps very professional looking, especially when you add heat shrink tube to fully seal the connection. Very impressed with this tools fit and finish as well as it's durability.

I've used this to crimp battery terminals on 4 awg wire and this worked perfectly. It took some tinkering to find the right setting, but it's a solid crimp. I bought to make battery cables for my RV battery/solar setup and it's already paid for itself and I have complete faith in my connections. I'll be using it for several other wire gauges as well.
I also was wondering if I needed longer handles to get the right crimp pressure, but given how soft copper is, this works perfectly.
