Pretty well made. Ties in well with the Assassin's Creed game series. Compatible with other brand name building block sets. Mega Blocks are lower cost but just as awesome as Lego building block sets. Bought this set as a prop for a dungeons and dragons stormwrack campaign and it works well with the newer minis. The figures are pretty poseable and easy to position in the ship.
Great bargain ship to build with a child

I am a Lego Technic fan and have an eight year old son who loves the Lego sets in general so I get a healthy exposure to Lego sets regularly. I noticed Lego pirate ships as a potentially new category to buy for myself or build with my son but I didn't want to pay the exorbitant prices for a old one and there wasn't a new one out there for a reasonable price. Enter this set... its price is very attractive to buy as a gift or family project which is what I did. The pieces are small and there are quite a few but it helps make the set very attractive in the end. All in all I would buy it again and recommend it wholeheartedly. It's a bit more of a project than a eight year old can handle alone (some of the pieces are hard to connect without help or stronger fingers & the sails definitely required adult assistance). Despite all these minor criticisms I love the set especially at $30 or less.

We got this set for my 6 year old son. It was remarkably more challenging than comparable Lego kits, but he was still able to do it all (I only assisted with tying the sails on). The quality is equal with Lego. I actually like the Mega Bloks people much better - they have realistic looking faces. And you can't go wrong with this price. Amazing!
