Great little pump
Julieanna✓ Verified Purchase•July 29, 2017
This pump exceeded my expectations. I made a water feature out of a galvanized tub, old iron hand pump, and a sprinkling can. The pump itself was placed in the bottom of the tub with the tubing run up the side, down and then up through the iron pump to the spigot, total of 5-6 feet. The pump is strong enough to create a steady stream. I made a holder for the solar panel from PVC and zip ties with telescoping 1/2" and 1" PVC on a piece of rebar stuck in the ground. I am very happy with the solar pump. As long as it's in the sun it will run and charge simultaneously. I shut it off at night.
Highly recommend it for a small water feature or pond.

The bird bath just needs a few tweets 😂

As soon as I received the 2.5 watt Solar water pump kit we set it up for our Family project bird bath. Excuse the mess and 'Red neck' look, but it's not finished. We still need to do some "tweeking" and filling in some spots where it leaks.
The water pump is pumping water up 4ft of tube. It still is working with cloud coverage. This is day 3.

Exactly what I needed

Exactly what I need for a backyard fountain. Just remember that you will have to move the solar panel to face the sun if you want it to run continuously (or use the battery!)
Great pump. Great service.

Love these ASC 5w solar powered pumps. Have bought four of them for my large urn water gardens. They spark right up at first light and stay on all day until shadows hit the solar panel. Very quiet operation. And by far the easiest to maintain. Only have to clean filter every couple months as opposed to many of the other pumps I've tried that get clogged in a few days, even with screen and rock pre-filters.
I did have one pump mysteriously die on me but the folks at ASC responded immediately and sent out a replacement pump that I got within 2 days! The reps could not have been more polite and concerned and eager to please, returning emails the same day.

It would be nice if the unit could run during the day off ...

The pump only runs on batteries, when I received the unit the batteries would not even hold a charge. It would be nice if the unit could run during the day off the solar panel. I have never seen the led lights turn on. I did contact the supplier and have not received a reply as to the issues.
