Mac user happy
Jenny A.March 30, 2017
This dash cam is petite (about 1"x2") and uses a USB cable for power. No hardwire! I really enjoy this camera because it is discreet and the video quality is excellent, however the set up (on a Mac) can be a bit difficult. I used Techmoan's tutorial to try and configure the settings, but it was way too difficult. The easiest thing for you to do is to search for "Mobius setup software for Mac" and the RC Groups page will have the app for you to use. It's kind of a roundabout way to go about things, but you'll be happy in the long run.
Excellent birthday gift with multiple uses.

I've had this for over a week now and absolutely love it. I will give these as gifts to all my family members for birthdays and what not. This is an $80 insurance policy that will last forever. I showed it to a neighbor who is a lawyer and his immediate response was "Good idea to protect yourself from the police." My reply was that it will protect me from criminals with the audio feature and idiot uninsured drivers (Who are also criminals since all cars are REQUIRED to be insured if they a are driven). Anyway the video taken is very crisp and clear. Mounted with just a velcro tape on the dash it's sneakily overlooked since there is no obvious power cord hanging down. It's small as a Zippo lighter and easily removed and pocketed when your done driving. If your a good person tired of bad people getting away with everything get this and you will have undeniable proof of drunk drivers to hand over to the police. "That's the car I called about and here is why I called." May save someones life this way. Bottom line is in a week I've convinced two people to get dash cams to protect themselves legally.
Also would like to add that with a $6 purchase of USB to micro USB adapter and reducing my video recording resolution to 1280 x 720 I can playback video on my Samsung S4 phone which make this an AWESOME purchase.
Porsche 911 dash cam

I have been using this camera for awhile now as a dash cam. Easy to use. I like the compact size. Battery life is fantastic, took a 2 hour drive of constant recording in 1080p and still had battery life when I got home. It takes very good smooth video and clean audio. After getting past the learning curve (not bad) of using it with a computer, it is very pleasant and actually prefer the computer interface now. The Mobius software is easy to use and understand and even works with your mobile smartphone/tablet devise as well. About the only issue I am having is that it doesn't like my Windows 10 computer and fails to copy video files in MP4 format, which is what works best with You Tube. It does however work flawlessly on my Windows 8.1 computer (both computers up to date with updates). Also the Sandisk 32GB micro SD that Amazon recommended with this camera is slow to copy files and sometimes corrupts a file here and there rendering your file useless. Mobius makes a statement in the instructions that they had issues with the Sandisk 32gb card and can be remedied with a firmware update, I have the updated firmware and still have issues on my Windows 10 computer. I highly recommend getting the Samsung 32 Pro plus SDHC card, this card is rated for 4K resolution and seems to capture smoother 1080p and copies twice as fast as the Sandisk one. The Samsung card is more expensive but have not had a single problem with corrupted files and is rated for action cams. Don't overlook your SD card , to use the analogy ... you wouldn't buy cheesy shoes if you were running a marathon. Cheap out on your SD card and you will get a cheep end product.

Mounts sold separately. Comes with velcro strip. No instructions included. Instructions and software can be found on Mobius website. Be careful of counterfeit fake Mobius cameras. There is a video on YouTube on how to spot these fake Mobius cameras. I received a genuine camera from the seller I got from.
Awesome, cheap alternative to a go-pro
RichardOctober 5, 2015
Awesome, cheap alternative to a go-pro. Wide-angle lense, 1080 video, takes a standard SD card. It's more compact than the go-pro so I find it actually easier to mount on my motorcycle, car, and bicycle. It's cheap enough that I can have one for each, too! I use velcro and it's held on my helmet at 100mph.

It takes a few seconds to boot up, and programming it isn't intuitive. But once you program it once, you never have to mess with it again.

I hope Mobius develops a better waterproof case, and other mounts, but otherwise this thing is excellent.
***UPDATE 3/31/2017***I've since purchased other Go-Pro alternatives. There are much higher-quality alternatives than the Mobius. The Mobius is an excellent dash cam (or bicycle cam), but if you want to do any sort of racing/motorcycle cam/adventure sport - look for other devices.
Great little camera

I am using this primarily as a dash cam, but I can see tons of other uses for it. At the sacrifice of a built-in video screen, it is extremely small, which means it is very discrete and portable. The cost is not unreasonable, but if you want to get the most out of this, you'll need to spend a few minutes doing some basic research and downloads.

As delivered, my package had nothing but the camera and a tripod mount sled (not the actual tripod), so find the documentation and scan thru it. Operationally, there are only a few buttons and really, the only button I find necessary is the power on/off. While downloading the documentation, download the GUI configuration program, mSetup. This checks for (and installs) new firmware, but out of the box, there were a few tweaks I found helpful.

There are two video "modes", but they seem to be basically profiles. You can e.g. set one mode to do high rez and high frame rate, and then the other mode to do low rez and frame rates. Using the config program allows you to chose the default mode. Things I like to set were the power on auto-record. If you're using this as a dash cam/DVR, set the loop recording "on" (it's off by default) and an appropriate clip length; I used 5 minutes. I have a 16gb microSD card, so I turned the frame rate from the default 60fps to 30fps. You can even enable or disable the recording status LEDs.

There is no real mounting system other than some Velcro, so at first I tried it on my dashboard, but all I got was some nice video of my windshield wipers. I mentioned above that it comes with a tripod sled, so I got a really nice visor mount and this makes it quick and easy to pull off when I'm leaving the car.

The battery lasts long enough for me to get to work and home again, so at least an hour. I haven't used a USB car charger with it yet, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

With no built-in screen, it'll take a little bit of practice aiming it. Unfortunately, that means sticking in the car, recording for a few minutes, then connecting it to a PC or a laptop. But it's a short learning curve, once or twice should nail your preference.
