This is an exceptional piece of high quality material perfectly crafted. I am serious when I say this axe is the best I have ever used. It rests in your hands perfectly with all the weight balanced so well. You can do so much more than just chop a tree down with this. This axe is essentially a multi-tool perfect for any and all outdoor forest activity. Thank you to this company for still passionately creating hand made axe's.

Amazing quality. You will get some work done with this baby. Personally I think this is THE PERFECT AXE for bushcraft and camping. The blade shape and profile really chops with precision and depth. Its thin compared to a classic american style but its strong and the thinness aids in cutting. I think this is the perfect size because its light and small enough to carry easily and replace any hatchet, but its big and heavy enough for heavy jobs. The best of both worlds. Its also really nice to look at, beautiful craftsmanship.

bought for clearing downed trees along my commute but have only used it to delimb a eucalyptus that took out the neighborhood utilities when it fell over. the arms length handle and wide bite on the axe head worked very well for that job. i am confident this axe will serve me well.

Love the ax!! Haven't had the opportunity to field test it yet, but will up-date the review then. In the meantime, I did add a para-cord handle guard :-)

Quality made axe. Well balanced and axe head forged and shaped by an obvious craftsmen. Handle is of high grade Hickory wood. The handle is a natural color but takes very, very well to stain and treatment of your choice. 2nd axe purchased from Helko and just as happy with it as the first. This isn't a run of the mill sub-par poor steel Chinese import you come across at some big box hardware stores. These folks make high quality tools that are meant to last....a long time.
