This version does not work with Windows 10 ! It has a graphic card and Java driver update need that can not be updated or logged as updated.
I tried and could not fix it. I want newer software or I want my money back!

This software is not only VERY affordable but easy to use for ALL. I opened the application and started drawing rooms at the get-go. Exactly the software I need to get a grid of my home floor plans so I can add electrical wiring plans I have to remodel my home. This software would be GREAT for home designers, interior designers or people who want to "move furniture around" in their homes to see how it all 'fits'. Love this software and compliment Emmanuel Puybaret at eTeks for developing it!

This is a very good home design program. The program itself is freeware; the cost is for libraries of 3D "furniture" models. (In the program's parlance, "furniture" is everything that can be added to a basic drawing. This includes what we normally think of as furniture (tables, chairs, beds), and also doors, windows, staircases, appliances, cabinets, fixtures, tools and so on.) The program uses Java, so it "should" be able to run on any desktop operating system.

If you are an old-timer like me who started with a T-square, triangles and pencils, a 3D program can have a steep learning curve. This one is somewhat easier to learn than others I have tried. After a few hours of trial-and-error practice, I was able to produce respectable concept drawings (to show to a contractor) for a home addition, and for separate woodworking workshop and garden tractor garage buildings. So it meets mey current needs.

The program also has some capability for depicting the outside of a building, and the surrounding landscape. [Probably more capability than I have! ;-) ] I notice that the program has the capability to import and export several drawing formats, which may be important to people who use other 3D programs.

The program author lives in Europe, so an American user may notice a few quirks. The program can be set to use the American measurement system (the rest of the world uses the metric system.) Some furniture items may look odd, as they are styles not common in the USA. Some things may require tweaking to fit exactly, as millimetres do not convert exactly to inches. (I have been using both systems in my professional career so it is less of an issue for me. Also, by drawings did not have to be perfect - just something for the architect to start from.) Most of the "problems" I encountered were eventually traceable to user error.

Considering the price, this is a very handy and powerful tool to assist you in planning a room, an addition or a whole house. It's reasonably easy to use, great for planning where to locate windows and doors, cabinets, furniture and appliances. All sizes of items can be adjusted to let you see if a room will be big enough, if not you can just move the wall a little.
Like I say, it's reasonably easy to use but does require some time to learn how to adjust sizes and move items around to where you want them. I think I spent perhaps 6 hours before I was a competent beginner, then another 8 hours until I was able to design a very nice addition. A little patience is necessary but I found it to be a lot of fun.
There appears to be no easy way of adding a roof to your design but for me that is not really a problem. I intend to bring my design to an architect for his or her suggestions and ideas and have a set of plans drawn up that can be used by the various contractors.
This is a well made, very stable program. No glitches or problems in any way. highly recommended. Some YouTube help is available.

Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic for the money! I got this to make a little model of my home then update some things and see how it looked. The program lets you walk around your house. I was also able to look at the paint cans in my shed and get the color codes and make the wall colors in my house match perfect. I emailed the people who build my home and ask for the floor plan, then the software let me import that picture and I just traced it with walls and set the scale (all super easy). My only complaint is this is very cpu heavy and isn't optimized for gpu. It took my moderately powerful pc 8 hours to render a 4,000*4,000 high quality picture. I included some in software photos I took of what I want my updated bathroom to look like lol.

Also I did not read any instructions to use this software, VERY intuitive I think.
