Many Thanks
Excellent as a bridge for streaming-media.

I'm using this as a WiFi bridge, effectively replacing the internal WiFi on a Roku media player. It works perfectly, and I haven't had to do anything with it since the initial setup. Using this bridge solved problems with Roku"”freezing up, failing to connect, etc."”and as a bonus moved its traffic to the 5GHz band, reducing the congestion on the 2.4GHz band.
I knocked off one star because there's no way"”as far as I can tell"”to turn off the LED light in a ring around the base of the unit. While it's a nice status indicator during the day, it seems brighter than a thousand suns at night. Since it's in a bedroom, I had to wrap the base in black tape to stifle the light.

A quick and simple network upgrade.

Quick and effective. It does a great job of expanding my network and allowing quicker connections for my newer devices without forcing the whole network to slow down for the older ones. Only draw back was the user interface for customization. I was not able to access it on any of my devices as per instructions. But the default info worked just fine as well as the device and I have not had a pressing need to do more than that at present. So, for a quick and simple network upgrade:This works like a champ.
Useless after a couple of weeks.

Like many cheap products. It worked well for a while, then I started having problems with the gigabit switch it was connected directly into. I thought it was the switch but after removing the device all my problems were over. I even tested it with a second switch (new) and with a direct connection to my cable modem. In the last version the connection lasts longer but it always stops working until I disconnect the device form power and reconnect.
I later tried changing the cable to a certified 3 feet cat6 cable to see if this would remove any noise; did not fix the problem.
I searched for software updates in case it was a bug in the software, no new versions. I am not happy to have a cute, little, white antenna that works for nothing. I had my hopes up...
It looks pretty, but it plain doesn't work. It also had pretty bad range while it worked, but that is to be expected from a single antenna (no mimo).

Quick and easy 5GHz

Range is somewhat limited (2-3 walls and that's it for the signal), but I got it to give my TV dedicated bandwidth immune to interference from the microwave and other 2.4GHz equipment. Works great for my needs. I am powering it off the USB plug on my Verizon Actiontec router.
