Great product

With gyros so hard to find, it is nice to have this in the freezer. It comes in 10 separately packages containers. I box feeds 4 people. Great flavor. We saute in cast iron pan till hot and a little charred - yum. Alternatively, you can grill the slices. We definitely order again.
Tastes Great So Long As You Don't Over Cook It

It states clearly on the packet do not over cook which I completely ignored and thought I would wing it.
Our fist go around on this tasted good but was more like gyro jerky lol
Second time around - perfection and here is how.
I don't have a griddle so I pan fried this, no oil needed. Just use a non stick pan.
You will see that the meat cooks in its own fat. Don't over crowd the pan with the slices, six at a time works and because they cook so quickly, the first batch doesn't have much time to cool down.
I pan fried on medium to high heat, 2 to 3 mins per side.
With tongs I placed the cooked slices on top of a paper towel to soak up any excess fat.
(optional) I then sprinkled the gyro meat with lemon juice and put all the slices back in a clean pan on high heat for a minute, using tongs to toss the slices around so the lemon juice was evenly distributed. Added to Pitta bread and poured some garlic sauce over the meat. I added salad on top and side serving of hummus.
Wow! Amazing. A true Greek taste sensation!
1 Box easily serves 3 to 4 people.
You get 10 boxes of which 8 are in my freezer (defrost over night in the fridge)
They arrived frozen in a polystyrene container - note you can reuse the container for road trips for keeping cans cool or edibles.
Bang for bucks? The initial price may turn you off but you get 10 boxes.
Ideal for folks who live 35 miles from the nearest greek restaurant or take out.
Ideal for folks who have an eating establishment and want to serve something super easy and very tasty.
Ill definitely buy again in eight months time :)

Very Good Gyro Meat at a Great Online Price!

We fried the gyro meat slices on Medium heat in a pan and they turned out great.
We also warmed the pitas a bit in the microwave.
Then we added Red Tomato, White Onion and the Tzatziki Sauce"¦no feta cheese for us.
Takes me back to the many times I had gyros after bars at Oakland Gyro in Milwaukee.
Yum!
Here are some details on our order:
Order Date: Wed 11/13/19.
Ship Date: Mon 11/18/19 (via FedEx in a styrofoam cooler with dry ice).
Delivery Date: Wed 11/20/19 (and the meat was still fully frozen).
Best By Date on All 10 Packages: 06/20/20 (that is 7 months out).
The first 1 lb package we opened had 23 slices of meat in it.
23 slices divided by 5 slices per gyro sandwich equals 4.60 gyros.
23 slices divided by 4 slices per gyro sandwich equals 5.75 gyros.
$123.64 divided by 10 lbs equals $12.364 per lb.
$12.364 divided by 4.6 gyros per 1 lb pack = $2.69/gyro for the meat.
$12.634 divided by 5.75 gyros per 1 lb pack = $2.15/gyro for the meat.
They were very good and you can't beat the price.
FYI: The packing list from Midamar Corp showed the following:
Gyro Slices 10/1 lb packages = $50.21
Fedex Shipping = $73.43 for a Total of $123.64.
Not sure what their profit margin is, but they only charged $50.21 for the meat!
$50.21 divided by 10 lbs = $5.02 per lb.
I can't find the meat locally, so I may need to stop at a Greek store next time I'm in the big city.
Meat with 5 Slices per Gyro = $2.69/gyro
Sam's Choice 6 Pack White Greek Style Pita's = $2.50 divided by 6 = $0.42/Pita
Sprouts 16 oz Tzatziki Sauce = $4.49 divided by 8? gyros = $0.56/gyro
Tomatoes = $1.78/lb = $0.23/gyro (guesstimate)
White Onions = $0.88/lb = $0.07/gyro (guesstimate)
Total Price per Gyro = $3.97
Enjoy!

Great tasting gyro meat.
Sherm G. ✓ Verified Purchase•May 31, 2023
Package was cold and frozen when it arrived. Packed in dry ice with solid packaging. The gyro meat is delicious and is already seasoned for you. My family loves when I make gyros with this meat. Some of the best tasting meat around and it is already seasoned, so there is no need to season it. A little pricey but definitely worth it. Makes delicious gyros and gyro greek salad, even better than some of the local places which sells gyros. Highly recommended for purchasing.
