Better Than Whey

I'd used whey proteins off and on for over 20 years. I was never a big fan, but they are convenient for a variety of reasons. I'd seen these "vegetarian" proteins, but pooh-poohed the idea of buying them because it wasn't "real" protein powder. I gave up dairy products during a time when doctors were addressing digestion issues and mentioned I might be lactose intolerant (turns out I'm not). I missed the convenience of a morning shake on the way to work or while at work, and decided to give this stuff a try. Glad I did. I like the taste and consistency of pea protein more than whey protein. While I may not be lactose intolerant, my insides definitely respond better to this stuff than to whey proteins (of the 15+ brands I had tried over the years). I am a repeat buyer and would recommend it to others.

As a huge fan of plant based proteins I was pretty intrigued by Purely Inspired Organic Protein Powder. And when I finally tried it I was not disappointed. I used to make my own protein mix, using pea protein, banana and chocolate almond milk. I have to say that Purely Inspired Organic Protein Powder tastes much better then the one that I made. The protein mix contains pea protein and brown rice protein, two great sources of amino acids. I wish they would have added hemp protein too. The sugar content is impressive - only 2g of sugar is great! The addition of vegetable and fruit extract is hard to overestimate. Unfortunately there are only 19 servings in the 1.5 lbs container, but it is what it is. Im quiet happy with this protein and will continue using it for my breakfasts.

Muscletech again kills it with the great tasting protein. I got the chocolate flavored one and oh my it is so good. It tastes amazing, it has 20 grams of protein and it mixes well with everything. I usually blend this up with some almond milk, bananas and oats and it is the ultimate post workout shake. I was a bit nervous to try this protein because I usually do not like organic protein because of their weird aftertaste. However, this one did not have that weird aftertaste. Overall a great product and I will buy again.

I tried this product as part of a free trial period and was pleasantly surprise with the product. First, it mixes well, much better than my typical whey protein. It has great consistency and you cannot beat the health benefits it offers. If you are looking to tone your lean muscles then go for it. I consider myself a meat/potatoes type of guy and so I do not typically venture into unknown flavors such as this. It has a very different taste that your typical whey blends, and for me it was a bit too strong but not overwhelming. I definitely recommend the product for those who consume organic products on a regular basis or those looking to get a little bit more than just protein value. I consume protein specifically for the protein per gram value so this one is not for me, but I would definitely still recommend to those whose goals this product does meet.

Not much to not like about this protein. Â I have whey protein shakes multiple times a day but whey all day every day is a problem for me for one reason, gas. Â Girlfriend hates it. Â I throw a serving of this in once a day and my stomach appreciates it. Â Pea protein actually has a great amino acid profile and the taste is on point. Â You would never know this is a plant protein. Â Other things I like are that there is no soy, no artificial sweeteners, and there's also a hefty 7g of fiber as well. Â The receptionists at my workplace were talking about their "weight loss" shakes and I told them about this organic plant protein. Â I would definitely challenge anyone to read the ingredient list of some other "nutrition shake" and compare it to this protein. Â Most of us probably already regularly use a whey protein and this is a great way to put a break in that daily routine.
