This software is really amazing. With it you can do things on a home made CNC that you cannot do on a manual mill with out special tooling. It is not perfect and it exhibits some instability when I run some of the utilities such as setting the z-axis zero with a conductive target. I am not sure why but some times it will find zero then promptly run to max z and hit the limit switch and lock up. When it works it is very good, when not, it's start over time. The big negative is that it requires a PC with a printer port and those are no longer common, so keep those old PC's and resurrect them as CNC controllers.
