They seem to have the brightness of a 100W bulb, as advertised, and the color spectrum seems fine. I can't attest to longevity since none of them has worn out - that's as expected.

these are excellent replacement bulbs, are very bright and give good, soft white light. I have lots of lamps in my home and they burn for many hours day and night so for economic reasons I had to start using these spiral replacement bulbs. I was doubtful at first, but they work really well. Be advised, when you first turn them on they will be dim, but will brighten slowly over a few minutes to reach their full brightness. The longer they burn, the better they look. The light is bright "soft" white, not glaring or yellow. They do give equivalent light to the old fashioned 100 watt light bulbs, but produce only a fraction of the heat, and will last much, much longer. And they do cut down of your electric bill. You don't have to sacrifice having decent light in your home to save on your electric bill, just use these spiral bulbs.

Bought these because they were tested for plant growth and beat out two other kinds of bulbs with 40% better faster plant growth. So this will match outside natural light better. It is bright. Does not do well with dimmers so you need to make sure you want 100 watt version of this bulb. I don't like yellow tint so this is less warm. Bluer light is easier on the eyes. While not blue the frequency is not eye straining. As far as some not working....Things can get knocked around during shipping so don't blame manufacturer if one is broken or dies early. Probably knocked around.

I know these will work but the shipping wasn't great. Very little protection. After I removed the 1 line of air bubbles I came to find a bulb was busted. Kinda disappointed in that fact.
