Had high hopes for this mount. It DOES fit a 2018 Jeep Wrangler despite what the order page says. The problem is that it tears the crap out of the plastic in the tray mount. Other issue I had was the lack of flexibility in adjusting the phone to a point I could see it comfortably. Larger phones will struggle. I have a iPhone X and wasn't completely happy with the fit. The plastic feels cheap and like it wont hold up long with continued adjustments and use, especially once the summer heat beats down on it. I am attaching a copy of the damage this thing did to my new 2018 Jeep... I researched this item through Jeep forums and other reputable on-line Jeep sites that all said this was compatible, so I don't buy that the scratches are because it didn't fit... it did, and it fit well, was solid once installed, except that it tore up my new Jeep.

I was scared before buying this product as alot of comments claim that it's low quality and it broke or scratched their dash board. well let me clear things out for you incase you are still considering.
- Will it scratch my dashboard :
No, and you do not need to sand anything before you instal it, the product has clean cuts and fits in with no problem. just make sure you insert
the front part first then slowly push to the front so that the back hooks would fit into the grill. No scratches, nothing, just needs abit of common
sense with more brain than physical power ;)
- is it really low quality :
I have tried many phone holders for my JK, nothing can hold a phone in it's place on a JK wrangler unless it's made for it. it's hell of a bumpy ride.
Rugged Ridge is a company that holds a good reputation for the accessories they produce for jeeps. The item is plastic after all so again use
your common sense. If you leave any plastic in the sun for a long time it will get weaker, so unless you decide to get a metal phone holder this is
your best bet. it looks like it's good quality plastic, the company has a good reputation and hey, it's made specifically for your car.
- What if it breaks after a while ?
well you dont have to get the whole kit again, the ball is universal and you could fit any other holder that fits on a universal ball onto it or just go
with rugged ridge again as they provide just the phone holder part with a much lower price as an accessory.

Love it, clipped in perfectly, easy install. I was using a Techmatte magnetic suction mount, but wanted something that looked part of the dash and not stuck separately to the windshield. I unscrewed the head with the magnet from the TechMatte and used it with this unit, looks amazing and works great.

Just got it and installed it in less than 5 minutes. Holds my Samsung Galaxy S6 and Otterbox nicely. Happy so far, will update after taking the JK off-road. See if it holds the phone snugly or if it vibrates out.

4/2017 - I have taken it off-road several times and it works great. The mount vibrated with the car (as expected) but the phone held snug and my go pro took great video. (I attached a pic of the adaptor I had to buy to use my go pro.)

9/2017 - Almost a year later and several off-road trips, I'm still happy with my purchase. It has loosened itself a bit. I took it off, tightened the part that holds the phone and re-installed it. I noticed it left marks where the hard plastic meets the soft. I'm not too worried since I hadn't planned on permanently removing the mount. Just a heads up in case that is something that is important to you. There are several reviews that talk about fixing that issue though...

Have on both of my Jeep's and use daily, love it. The first install, I experienced small scratches on the dash tray edges, as another review has noted. I had seen that review and took note to be careful, but it still scratched. The second install did not scratch as I tried another technique. The difference is that I placed the back hooks in the vents on the dash the rocked forward the tray in place. By doing this it caused scratches. The second vehicle, I came straight down in the dash tray and pressed firmly letting the hooks snap in place. Didn't seem natural to me, but worked and no scratches.
