As other reviewers have noted, the fit is not exact so it leaves some gaps at the base of the tray. If you care, it could be an issue. If not, it's easy enough to ignore.

Also, the standard position of the phone mount puts the phone front and center in your windshield. That's great if you want to see your phone. Not so great if you want to see where you're going. The better position for the phone is lower, and you can get the phone there if you flip the mount upside down and drill a new hole to extend it so that it clears the console vents. Nice that you can make it work with a little effort -- sucks that it doesn't come this way out of the box.

Unlike other reviewers, I have had no issues with the mount holding my phone while driving off road. I use the phone for GPS navigation on dual track, and the mount holds up to some pretty rough driving.

I like the kit but the phone mount broke already. I had only used about 10 times when the rubber that holds the phone broke letting my phone fall onto the floor. I have contacted the seller and they are working with me right now. I have already bought another phone mount that connects to the 17mm ball and works better than the stock phone mount that came with the kit.
Update: I contacted the seller and they replaced the phone mount. Great service from the seller. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars is because of the quality of the phone mount. I'm sure this one will break like the previous one. That's why I bought a cheap vent mount phone holder that attaches to the ball mount on this dash mount kit.

I really like the idea of this, but it lacks a little in execution. There's double sided tape and screws to hold it down, but it doesn't fit well enough for the double sided tape to grab until you screw it in and the screws force everything together. The phone holder holds my iphone 6s (work phone) fine, but it has started to drop my note 3 (personal phone) on every good bump after 2 weeks of use.

Update...I've put less than 3k miles on it since I bought this in November and now it won't even hold my iphone 6s reliably at this point. I really like this mount, but it simply wasn't built well enough.

Nice product and a super easy install. I was mainly looking for something to mount my gompro on when wheeling. So far this seems to be doing the trick. Note that I had to buy a separate mounting screw to mount my Hero3 to this mount. Otherwise there is just a screw hole that doesn't mate to the go pro.

The phone holder is okay but based on the fact that this is partially rubberized and from what I read in other review. I am expecting that I will have to replace/upgrade it at some point. For now it works and looks great.

So I installed the holder with phone holder in a 04 Jeep TJ. The install was super easy and the tray itself is nice. The phone holder however is another story. I went to install it on the ball and found the locking ring was SUPER TIGHT. I mean ridiculously tight. I had to really push it to get it to start on the threads and with a couple turns once it was started it split. It was only a couple turns when it snapped and you can see the gap in the attached pictures. I've used many holders similar to this and do not believe it was an error on my part. There is just no way that was the proper size ring.

As for the phone holder it would probably be fine for a thin phone but my Samsung S8+ has a battery case on it so it's thicker than most. Because of this it doesn't hold well at all in the holder.

I do like the ability to add accessories to the holder and have put a clip on the phone holder screw. I can now easily clip my action cam in place when wanted and then unclip it when I'm not using it to clean up my dash.

Update-3/5/20 I reached out to their warranty department and filled out the form. The next day I got an email asking for my receipt. I sent screenshots and the next day they had a new phone holder on the way. I got it today and the ring on this one is correct. It screwed on easily like it should. I plan on using this to hold my Samsung S5 that I'm using as a remote for my action cam. It will do this well and puts it in a good location.

I raised a star because of their customer service. I'm very happy with it and now have a second phone holder as they sent the entire holder instead of just the ring.
