I don't remember ever having eaten Hormel Tamales before so I don't have any nostalgia for them. I see other reviews mentioning that it's changed over the years and there is less filling now. I'm certain that's true but I can't comment on that. I can comment on the fact that I was pleasantly surprised with the tamales and I will purchase them again.
I find it a good value for an above average tasting canned food. Ideally I wish the sauce had a little more kick to it but again when judged for what it is and the price, I find it above average. 5 minutes in the skillet and it's good to go. We served it with a side of Mexican rice and it was a good, quick and easy lunch.
