Teeny tiny opening of lamp using itsy bitsy plastic funnel that comes with this means oil all over your countertops, the outside of the lamps and everywhere else.
Disappointing that there isn't a smaller opening or spout on the brand of oil they sell for this lamp, so you could control the pour better and avoid this problem. Made the experience wasteful and stressful and dread having to try to refill these again. Don't like pouring flammable oil on my kitchen surfaces. :-/

I reviewed the smaller bottle in a separate review and I judged them to inconvenient for normal use. These 3" bottles are a great product. They hold enough fuel that you don't have to refill them as often and because they are larger they are easier to handle during the refueling process. It is a bit messy to refuel them if you are not careful but much easier and neater than their smaller counterparts. I will be buying a few more. As for the smaller size I'm going back to the disposable ones.

I bought this to use as a heat source in a Kamjove KJ-501 tea pot warmer. It works perfectly. The tea stays nice and hot and there is no soot deposit whatsoever on the bottom of the teapot.
Compared to a regular solid wax candle, I find this is both a bit quicker to light and a bit easier to blow out. But there's no smoke when you blow it out, which is nice. And the flame is always the same height, which is also nice.
