Batteries fade quickly

I like the look of the lamps, and when we first got them they shone brightly for at least four hours after sunset. After a few months they've gotten noticeably fainter and they only last two hours before being very dim. The light is just a small LED on the bottom side of the plastic lid. There is a small solar cell on top of the lid and a rechargeable battery inside the lid. I'm considering replacing the battery with something more stout. The glass bulb is clear and doesn't diffuse the light at all - I think the rope actually helps break up the light a bit (when it's bright). They're attractive for being so cheap. I'd recommend them if you only want to use them for certain occasions. If you leave them out like I did, the batteries will cycle too much and you'll lose the light.

These glass globes give off exceptional light. I placed them under my pergola and was surprised at how much they lit up the area. I even placed one in my kitchen window on the inside and it allows us to get around the kitchen at night without turning on electrical lights. I have three sets now and hang them from my porches too! I'm going to get another set for the beach cottage and put some sand in the bottoms with sand dollars, starfish, etc.

Update: 2 years old now, light still charges/glows. However, the light is much dimmer than when I first purchased and the rope is gone.
This solar light is cute enough during the day. I am/was using it to light a small container/fish pond at night. It was really bright for the first couple of weeks, slowly dimming (even when being charged on an entirely sunny day). I've had it about 8-9mo now, and the rope has started to deteriorate/break. I have a wire holding it in place. Overall, I don't regret this purchase, it still "works". I know I've left it out to the elements, so the price was worth the almost year of usable product.

While I like how these look be prepared to make them more secure. The hemp twine unties easily which would make the light fall and break. The hemp won't last well outide. The lid is not attached to the jar and has also fallen off. Suggest a little silicone glue. But I really do like the light and how they look!

Love how it looks like a flickering candle lantern. Super cute, holds charge almost all night long & has pretty yellow glow. Not ugly led harsh white or blue but warm yellow. Side windows are transparent white plastic, not glass & it has a few rust spots on it already & has only been outside for a month. So took off a star for that because I feel for $19 there should be no rust & the sides should be glass or at least fit better. Would recommend to a friend of price was lower, would order again.
