This product is fantastic and quite the value. Used them last night (Jan 26, 2018) to trap 2. The first one was caught within 10 minutes of setting the trap at 730 pm in suburban Chicago. The release tool is well worth the money, as the trap is difficult to open (as it has to be strong enough to hold the raccoon) which it is. One of my latest got both front paws, which is called a double in the coon trapping game. Also separately you will need an effective means of dispatching the raccoon. In a rural area that is not an issue, but in most cities the local constable can get slightly put off by rifle fire. A good shovel does the trick, however dress appropriately, as shovel splatter can be hell on your good flip flops.

Amazing traps.... iv never trapped anything but with these i can catch my problem coons in.... just be aware i did catch a Opossum once but i have caught probably 10-20coons... all i use is dog food under the trigger and tuna in oil over the dog food on both sides of the trigger... i put the empty tuna can flipped over the top of the trap and use the rest of the tuna oil on the bottom side of the can and around my trap... with 12hrs i have something... i have had my trap not touched for 2days but i find that to be rare and only once you have most of the coons caught... just so you know that if you catch 1 you have more around theres never just 1 alone...

This trap is amazing! We have been trying with basic cage traps for months to catch the raccoon eating our chickens and turkeys. Set this new trap last night and by 3 AM the culprit was caught!

Just what I ordered and arrived quickly! These traps are perfect when the VC (Varmint Coon) arrive in force. I have three traps and since the use of foo gas is frowned upon in my AO, I put all to good use whenever Charlie is in the wire! Perfect for holding the VC at bay until I calm them down with a copper jacketed prozac. Sometimes the blood pumping out of an ear is a little much, especially after chowing down a plate of rigatoni, but it's a coon's life after all. Highly recommend this product and seller!
Works as advertised...will trap skunks, too...careful.

Execellent...works as advertised. Definitely buy the setting tool, makes it much easier. Bagged my chicken killer the first night it was out..baited with some kitty kibble. Make sure you have an effective way to eliminate the trapped critter....it will be alive, angry, and dangerous.
Be aware....you might catch the odd skunk or two....you better have a plan to deal with that before you set the trap. For me it was a .22 caliber pellet gun from 40 feet. Also....prepare a deep hole in case you nail a skunk. A decomposing skunk sticks around a loooooong time.
