A Must for My Kimchi!
Christopher Yow✓ Verified PurchaseMay 20, 2017
I bought two of these specifically to make kimchi in, and I couldn't be more happy. I've made three different types of kimchi and about six batches total so far. I've also made feremented dill pickles and sauerkraut in them. It is an ingenious and easy to use system. The inner seal keeps the veggies airtight so there is no chance of mold. The outer lid keeps the kimchi goodness from smelling up your kitchen, too. It is also light tight. You do have to check it every day or so to open the valve and squeeze the seal back down over the veggies as the gasses build up, but the design makes this a super easy two-second process. Getting your product in and out is very easy because of the ample width. There are no complicated parts to deal with. Clean up is very easy. It is a simple, elegant, and efficient design. Frequent fermenters will not be disappointed.
Love it!

Just started my first batch of sauerkraut, after reading some of the reviews on here I decided to leave the inner seal plug open and submerge it under the juice. Put a couple of small plastic salad dressing containers on top and when I put the outer lid on they press down on the inner seal and submerged everything. Looks like it will work great! I like the fact that I can leave it in my kitchen with no smell, and I can just pop the whole container in the fridge when it's ready! Just ordered a couple more!
SUPER EASY and delicous kimchi!

Makes great kimchi! The sealed inner lid makes keeping everything packed down and away from the air so simple. Although I don't think kimchi smells like anything but good food, I'm also impressed that these containers keep the odors in. The only time we smell kimchi is when we open it to eat. This is the second container that I own personally and I've also bought them for family members. The only negative thing I can say is I wish they were cheaper because I'd love to own a bunch more.
Homemade sour pickles made easy

I recently got into making my own fermented sour pickles, and I wanted to be to make more than three at a time (which was all I was able to fit in a quart Mason jar). I started looking into traditional pickling crocks, but they're on the expensive side (at least for me they are), so I figured I'd end up waiting until Christmas and then asking for one. But then I found this, which was far more affordable than a traditional stoneware pickling crock (not to mention much lighter), so I got it and I love it. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store, what's not to love about it? If you make any kind of fermented food, whether pickles, sauerkraut, or kimchi, you will not go wrong with this container.
Great convenient container for fermenting.

Loves this container. I bought this to use mostly for sauerkraut and kimchi and it has been awesome. I had previously just been using jars and always had to jerry rig something to keep all the veggies below the brine. This simplifies everything so much. The inner lids keeps all of the veggies submerged and the outer lid keeps the odor inside the container. I personally don't mind the smell of fermenting veggies, but not everyone appreciates it. I did find that I have to keep the plug on the inner lid unplugged for at least the first several days, otherwise the gas from the fermentation pushes the lid up the inside of the container. You can fit about 3-4 heads of cabbage in one container.
