It's precise and made well

I am not an expert. All I can go by is my personal experience with this. This stethoscope is well made and is very precise at localizing sounds, with very abrupt and distinct audibles. As long as your placement is accurate, your will hear the sounds. Everyone seems to agree that the Littmann is the standard and they are very well-reviewed. At school, they use cheaper stethoscopes and they produce much more generalized sounds and are not as precise as the Littmann. However, your placement doesn't need to be 100% correct in order to hear sounds. The sounds are not nearly as dynamic or sharp as with the Littmann. It's not bad to have a few different pairs of stethoscopes, not only as backups, but also to get the full range of hearing devices and what they can do.

First of all this is a high quality stethoscope and works well. I almost returned it due to the stickiness of the tubing, when taking it off from around my neck it would rip my hair out! I thought there is no way I could use it this way. After talking to a few of my coworkers they said theirs was the same way and the sticky would go away after a few days. I wore it around the house for a day and ran it through my hands and back and forth on my neck several times and the stickiness did go away after getting the oils from my skin on it! I'm so glad I stuck it out and kept it, it is a great product!

I've been using this steth for about 5 years now. It still works as amazing as the day I bought it.
I have this one and the littman lightweight. This is great for entry level users and advance users as well.
This one is a little bit heavier feeling than the light weight, so if that's some you like try the lightweight. If not try this one. I prefer the heavier feel.
The acoustics are amazing and slightly better than the lightweight, however this might not be noticeable to an entry level user.
The steth is well made and to be fair the construction of all littmans is great.
After 5 years only the plastic part around the large diaphragm is coming loose other than that it still works awesome. I highly recommend getting any of the littman stethoscopes.
