This unit might have defected, I try to return and replace it. When you set in in auto, 8h, 4hr, the light come on and off every minutes.

Works well. I use it for dusk ro dawn and does the job. Used for front steps and under an awning. Old one would stay on during cloudy day's, this one shuts off as it should.
