I have a vintage teak 3 shelf bookcase and when I moved, the pegs didn't make it. I forget what kind was there, but dang these are great. There is no wobbling or sound when putting something down.

These work great. I'd recommend trying the fit at your local hardware store. The pegs come in different diameters. This size fit my hutch perfect, and the bracket was long enough that my shelves can't slide off and fall down. I couldn't find that at the big box stores. Thanks Amazon!
