Purchases with own funds for use with my classroom ($619) ...

Purchases with own funds for use with my classroom ($619) since I am not provided with technology. I am a mobile teacher and as such have a cart that this rides on. The neck falls lower and lower with any jostling of moving cart between classrooms but still works. Was later assigned a room due to increase in class sizes I teach. Elmo has not moved at all for last 8 months. This morning Elmo will not turn on. The on button remains red and will not click to blue. It is under warranty but the requirements are that I ship it to Elmo for fixing in preferable their original box.
To fix this, I am required by ELMO to box it, insulate from shocks, purchase insurance, and pay for shipping! This has been a very expensive choice and I probably will have to purchase a different brand when I become a mobile teacher again.
Update:
Received ELMO in 4 days with a 5 degree wobble to camera head and two long parallel scratched to camera head housing. Seems they did not install the head as "tight" as they should have during repair. They blamed this on the shipping carrier.
ELMO provided a return shipping label to remedy this but in the end I had to pay for boxes and bubble wrap and a new ELMO ac adapter and hdmi cable since they did not return these to me. I called and they informed me that the warehouse that opened the box did not find those items as shipped by me.
If you are a mobile teacher stay with the budget $200 dollar ELMO or the $425 HoverCam Ultra 8 (which is the TT-12id direct competitor).
