Was pleasantly surprised by the quality and strength. Happily replaced one which was far inferior and bent so easily it seemed like an injury just waiting to happen.

Just got it and it fit right in place. Very sturdy and heavy. I ordered this for the cast iron longevity vs the cheap tin or plastic registers that just don't last. Looks great.

The vent I used this on being in front of the refrigerator and the vent that was replaced was dented, rusted, broken etc. That being said, the damper underneath that's built-in to this register is the same type of tin material. With drops and spills from the refrigerator (kids) I'm sure it'll be quick to rust out, but the top iron material will outlast natural childhood destruction.

I read another review that said the damper is difficult to open from the top by the thumb tab and easy to move the fins from the bottom. This is true so make sure you set it to your desired width of openness and leave it there. It can be done with a strong enough pull but, I don't need to block the airflow in my case. It is easy to close, though.

First things first, we really like the look of these floor registers. They go well with our hardwood floor color.

We bought these to replace the cheaper registers with plastic dampers, which progressively broke over time. We wanted something that would be more durable, and these all-metal registers seemed to fit the bill. We initially purchase a small handful through Amazon, and they arrived in good shape. However, we noticed that the dampers were sometimes a little loosely attached to the decorative grill. In fact, one of them kept falling off, but we were able to get it to stay in place.

We then bought several more to fill replace all the registers in our home. Sadly, two successive shipments contained damaged registers. In some cases, the dampers had completely fallen apart. Thankfully, a few emails to the manufacturer resulted in replacement of all our damaged ones. Still, some of the ones that we had were a little loose, but we figured out how to attach all the parts more securely by using a needlenose pliers to more firmly attach the dampers to the grills.

Excellent product for the price. Solid Metal. Well made and visually attractive. In this day of most of the stuff you buy ending up being cheap plastic or hallow sheet metal, this was a really nice surprise. Did not expect it for this price. Really good deal all around. Highly Recommend these.
PRO: Well Made with solid materials. Aesthetically attractive. Easy install if your floor cut out is correct. No excess packing material or fancy wrapping. Looks like they save on the cost of packaging and give it back to you with a quality product.
CONS: Not necessarily cons, but something people may notice. These are heavier than most. Obviously that is attributable to the solid cast iron metal or whatever material is used. They are a little bulkier / thicker than others I've seen. Again, good quality, sturdy and slightly bigger than normal.
OVERALL: A Great Buy!!!

These vent covers are very sturdy. They are metal, not plastic, and less expensive than the big box stores. Little touches like nice vent covers really make a difference in the overall look of your home. I am so happy with these!
