Awesome Cat Enclosure!!
MKP✓ Verified Purchase•July 20, 2017
I bought the 6x4x8 cage to use as an outside enclosure for my two 12lb cats. I was expecting this to be great, but it is more than great, it's freakin awesome! I wanted a safe place for my cats to enjoy the outdoors, something affordable, secure and easy to take apart if I decide to move. This cage is PERFECT! I was prepared to need to reinforce all the gaps with chicken wire, but this has been totally unnecessary. The gaps on the bottom, between the panels and next to the door are nowhere near big enough for my cats to squeeze through. There is no way my boys are getting out of there. If I had a kitten or a rabbit, I wouldn't be so confident, but my cats aren't tiny. When the cage arrived I took the panels out and to my back patio, had the cage up in 30ish minutes by myself. Super easy. The 6x4x8 is plenty big for what I wanted, the cats have a lot of room and I can stand up in the middle. The cage did come with a black top, but I chose not to use it because I wanted the cage to feel airy and open - and wanted my cats to be able to look up at the birds, squirrels and bugs. I was going to put some regular chicken wire over the top, but when I went to the hardware store they had some green plastic chicken wire, like thick plastic netting. It was much lighter, more pliable, wouldn't snag my hair or scrape me, it's some good stuff. I secured the green plastic chicken netting with a million zip ties. There's no way they're getting out through the top. For the ramps and perches, I used 1"x8" boards. To secure the boards to the cage I bought some screw hooks and screwed them into the ends/sides of the boards so they could hook over the cage wires, and be easily repositioned if needed. I bought a couple cheap outdoor rugs at Walmart that I cut and tacked on top of the boards so the fur balls would have a comfy place to chill out and could get up and down the ramps easier. It's perfect for them. They luxuriate in the warmth outside, chase bugs, meow at the birds and squirrels that taunt them. I can also keep my back patio doors open and enjoy the fresh air without worrying about my cats escaping. They're very happy and I'm very happy!
Love it.

I really like this kennel. I bought two of them and put them together for my foster pit. She is very mellow so it is perfect for her. If she was higher energy I might need the 6ft tall one. My husband put it together easily, he did it so it ended up being 4x10 which means a 2ft panel isn't covered, so we just covered it ourselves. If we ever foster a higher energy dog we could remove the open panel and make it the 4x8. Either way, I am so glad I purchased this.
Measure twice, cut once...

Just assembled this today so can't comment on durability yet, but wanted to point out one issue with the listed dimensions.
The description states that the measurements are 4 feet by 8 feet. I ordered 4 tiles of the Kennel Deck flooring system, each of which measure about 2 feet x 4 feet (1/2 inch shorter each side). If this kennel had been 4 x 8 as stated, the tiles would have fit perfectly. However, depending on how you assemble this kennel, it will be either 2 inches short width-wise or length-wise. If you assemble the kennel with the ends out as recommended (see diagram 1), it's about 3.8' wide; if you assemble the kennel with the sides out (see diagram 2), it's about 7.8' long. Either way, you are going to be short in one dimension.
I ended up sawing the Kennel Deck tiles to fit. The kennel is too cumbersome to return for such a small measurement issue, but the issue does exist, so be careful if you're ordering flooring!

5 stars, but... Ok so this ...

5 stars, but...
Ok so this kennel gets 5 stars because it is exactly what was described. All pieces were there, setup was a breeze.
However, to say this is a 6ft kennel is a joke. In the product description it specifies that the panels are 5ft w out the roof. That is correct. W the roof it's 6ft at the peak, only. It's not very strong. I bought this because I honestly believed that it would be stronger (and prettier) than chain link. I don't think that's the case. I have 0 confidence this kennel would stand up to a dog that has any interest in getting out.

Definitely like this, easy to put together and sturdy

Definitely like this, easy to put together and sturdy. Used this for a cat enclosure, attached redwood boards for a ramp and perches. Bought wood brackets to attach wood to sides with screws and used welded wire fencing over the top & under the tarp to keep cats from escaping. So far they like it & haven't gotten out. Do plan to put a enclosed walkway from window to enclosure so they can easily go in & out.
