Lines up with the SportRack rails perfectly but...

Lines up with the SportRack rails perfectly but...It comes with thumb tightening nuts without lock washers to hold it on which means you have to keep checking that they are tight and makes it easier for a thief to wall off with it. So I just went to the hardware store and got locks nuts AND lock washers to fit the bolts so I can leave it on with the spare tire for my minivan locked on top of it with a couple of bicycle locks. Doubled the storage space in my van. It's well built of steel and while it's on the heavy side to take on and off all the time by mounting it permanently it doesn't matter.
Great rack, better with extension

I purchased this with the net and extension off of the Toy's "R" Us website, not amazon. But they are the same product none-the-less, and I figured I would share my thoughts.
When I first received the rack, I though it was a bit slimmer then I imagined but still looks good. It was easy to assemble with only a few screws to put the pieces together, and valla its complete. Putting it on your car was a bit harder as it requires lifting the thing over onto the roof, but other then that, the screws are all tightened by hand and easy to connect. The custom plastic fairing was a bit iffy as there is no definite stopping place to stop screwing, making me worried I was going to crack it, but I didn't, I just tightened it hand tight and it looks fine. With the extension, it adds 22 extra inches, which is long enough for me to put my snowboard and other various camping equipment in.
As for the net, I highly do not recommend it as I assumed it would just go over the top and cover everything, but the hooks are to small to hook around the top rail and it is a complete mess to try to understand how they intended it, just save the money and hassle and use bungee cords or a generic net.
To secure it, I bought a custom length tarp, 6 foot by 4 foot, and which is installed where the screws screw into the fairing, and I use bungee cords with Caribbeans to secure the tarp to the basket itself. This method keeps it all secure and protects it from the rain mostly.
So for short, I recommend this product and an extension if you need it as SportRack is an off brand of Thule and Thule makes good quality stuff, but do not recommend the net as it doesn't clearly attach to anything on the rack.

Works with slight modification.

I like the looks of the basket, but my husband had to shave the bushings in order to get it to fit the 3.5" crossbars I had purchased. Easy for me to assemble, otherwise.
Great for a Subi

Love my sport rack! Was going to buy a Thule, however, once I found out this was made by Thule and is half the price, I decided to purchase the sport rack! So glad I did as it has been very handy especially on my husbands and I's road trip to WY with our baby daughter. We got to throw a lot of thinks in the rack and was able to have more space in the Subaru for other nesecesties! Good price and great fit for the adventurous family with a Subaru Outback!
