This adapter does not fit into all Italian sockets
Damien✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 25, 2018
These adapters are not sized properly. They work in some outlets in Italy, but not all. There were several instances when the plug was too narrow for the wall outlet and the plugs would slowly work themselves out of the socket. In order to charge my phone on several occasions I had to hold the adapter in to the socket just to charge my phone. I've added a picture comparing the adapter to an average Italian plug.
Handy collection if you travel a lot

These plugs seem well made and useful, and if you travel a lot it is handy to have a variety. My main complaint is that there was no information sheet included to list countries where the plugs would be appropriate. Many are labeled with a specific country, but it is little use to me to have plugs labeled FR for France and IT for Italy when I'm going to Thailand and Chile. The FR plug looks like a bigger version of the old "most of Europe two-prong" plug that I have used for 35 years, but it will accept a US three-prong (grounded) plug, which is an advantage. Unless I can definitely sort all this out by searching the net I will wind up taking 3 plugs on my next trip; it would be really helpful to have a good list of plugs by nation included in the box (which is nice and sturdy, by the way).
Bestek Universal Plug Adapter for Italy - 3 Pack

I purchased these adapters for our upcoming trip to Italy. These are basic plug adapters that will let you use a USA-Style plug (and many others) in the type of outlet you see in Italy, Uruguay, Chile and Syria with the grounded 3-prong outlet, but there are a few words of caution that need to be said before you buy them.

IMPORTANT - It is critical to know that these are ADAPTERS, NOT CONVERTERS!!! Yes, you will be able to use a different plug in an Italian outlet, but there is much more to it than that. The power over in Italy is 220 volts, twice the 110 volts that we have here in the USA. BEFORE you plug a device (cell phone charger, hair dryer, etc.) into this adapter then into the wall you MUST make sure that it can work on 220v. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!

In order to tell if your electrical device is capable of using 220v, you must look very carefully at the label on the device itself, the charger or the power pack. It MUST say "INPUT - 110-240 Volts AC", telling you that it is capable of handling the increased voltage. If it only says "INPUT - 110 (or 120) Volts AC" then you must not use this adapter - you will need either a new charger or appliance that works on 220v or you will need a step-down converter to reduce the 220v to 110v, and THIS ADAPTER IS NOT A CONVERTER! The take-home lesson is that you must pay attention to what you have and what you are doing.

Here are my personal observations:

Pros:
+ Reasonable size and weight for easy packing.
+ Adequate construction (hey, it's only plastic but it works).
+ My USA style plugs fit firmly and do not slide out too easily.
+ 13 amp capacity (which is quite a lot for 220v service).
+ Inexpensive, and it's a 3-pack.

Cons:
- I would have preferred that they were not universal and only fit USA plugs, this way they would have fewer unused openings and could have been more solidly made.

Overall, these are a basic travel necessity for a reasonable price. If your electrical device can handle 220 volts, then these should work for you.
Does the job, but a little loose for comfort

I bought these for a business trip to India. Since most of my equipment is able to handle 240 volt power without a voltage converter, they did the trick to let me plug in laptops, tablets, and phone chargers. Do double-check that your device is rated for 240V input power before using one, though, since if it's not plugging it in with one of these will probably destroy it. That's not a fault of the product, just know what you're buying. If you have something that needs US voltage rather than the voltage used in the rest of the world, this isn't the right product.

The reason for only three stars is that the socket side of the adapter is too loose. Although my two-prong US plugs never actually fell out of the socket, there was often a quite visible gap between plug and adapter where the prongs were exposed. A piece of paper or similar falling into that gap could easily have started a fire. I was usually able to find a way to prop up the plug so that it didn't pull down and open the gap, but I wouldn't have been comfortable leaving them plugged into a vertical wall socket unattended.
Just OK, good customer service

Just OK - traveled with these to Germany. The connection for the US standard plug in to these was very loose. Had to just toss one of the three because it was so loose that whatever I would try to plug in would partially hang out and get no power. The other two were also loose but I was able to use them, as long as I didn't bump the plug in.
