a collection of sturdy international power adapters w/out a bag

I use this kit for international travel because I found that the brick-like single piece adapters with multiple prongs do not stay put in many outlets due to their weight. Also, the single-piece adapters are hard to fit into tight spaces (like the narrow gap between your bed and the night stand where the only outlet in the room is located). The only advantage of the single-piece adapters is slightly lower weight that a kit of separate adapters.
I used this kit so far in four counties in Europe (France, Poland, Austria, and Hungary). They all use the same European adapter. I plugged and unplugged this adapter about 50 times in the span of a month or so. The European adapter was sturdy, fit tightly in power outlets of 4 countries, and did not fall apart. Once I use this kit in other countries I will update this review.

I like that these are compact and pack in my suitcase easily. Also, with the universal female plug they will accept my devices from the UK, Hong Kong and the US.
That they have a grounding pin is a twofold bonus. Number one: unlike the US which has a shortage of grounded sockets, it's the standard in Australia and NZ, which means that any grounded devices you own will actually be grounded. Number two: even if your device doesn't require a ground pin, the extra point of attachment makes the adapter far less likely to fall out of the wall (especially with some of those heavy transformer plugs).
All said, for under three dollars a piece it's easy for me to recommend these also from a value standpoint.

These things are horrible. Only two worked and after the first use of one of those two, only one worked. I was traveling abroad and threw the ones that didn't work away. Not only was I disappointed, but I was also inconvenienced my entire trip due to the fact that I could only use one electronic item at a time.
Compact size is great compared to all-in-one models.

Buy for the country you need, you save money and size. Dad was working in London, got these for him to use. He loved the compact size. Other people he was working with were jealous of the small size compared to their large brick adapters. Buying the EU ones for a team working with me this summer in Amsterdam.
