Easy install. Okay insulation rating. Count your pannels.
GreenBean✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 23, 2017
First things first. Count how many pannels you have. New homeowner here so I'm learning as I go and thought I'd be fine with "fits most standard 8 and 9 foot doors". What they should do a better job telling you is that it fits most 8 and 9 foot doors that only have 4 panels. I noticed halfway through the install that I was 2 short. Called the manufacturer and they only sell 4 panel kits and won't sell them outside the kit. After checking around I noticed a much better insulation rating kit at Home Depot for $30 less. I suggest looking a little more before ordering this one. They bring said, the installation is a breeze. And it looks nice when done, even with the two middle panels missing.
FAST FIX to problem of direct morning sun radiating heat into garage.
E-ReaderTechieGuy✓ Verified PurchaseJune 5, 2017
These worked great to keep the direct morning sun from overheating my garage during the early part of the day. However, in the afternoon, the garage still gets to its near oven temperatures. I"ll have to look at additional attic insulation to remedy that. Easy installation and I would purchase again.
Excellent Product!

This is great product, easy installation with excellent result! Complete installation on 16' door (two boxes) about Hr and half. Aside from getting an instant temperature change one of the biggest benefits is the noise reduction. Our master is directly above the garage, used to be extremely loud in bedroom but can barely here door open now

Although I am generally satisfied with the performance of this product, I was not prepared for these two installation problems:(1) the panels are
made of a Styrofoam-like material, so when the panels are cut and installed small particles fly everywhere and cling to everything, making for a messy and continuing cleanup effort , and (2) the panels are not tall enough to fill in some of, the metal garage door panels; this requires measuring and cutting small, fill-in pieces. Be aware that garage door panels are not all the same size. Measure carefully!
With the time, be prepared to set up to avoid excessive time cleaning.

Be prepared to clean up tiny foam balls. Put a tarp down or vacuum frequently. The product works well, as far as bending. For my application I had to measure, subtract 1-2 inches then cut in half width, to fit in the lip area on sides. It took me about 4 hours. I used spray foam to fill gaps. Then cover gaps with White Duck tape. I already can tel the difference. My garage temp is down from 120 to 80. The aluminum doors were like a giant convection oven. Very happy I did it.
