cooked some eggs, the only thing they stuck to, was the spatula. still looking for that. a spatula that dont stick. good luck with that. it was nice for a change to cook with a neutral flavor. i aint fond of modern cooking oils, dont like the flavor. soy bean oil, more or less.. a forgotten vegetable.

First time I ever used lard and it made a delicious pie crust. The packaging could be improved a lot.
Delicious, perfect lard!

Several times, I've purchased lard that was rancid when I opened it. There is nothing like that sour-sweet smell. Yech! I got so paranoid that I started rendering my own lard -- which worked well until I ran out of time this year and didn't get to my good butcher for pork fat until too late.
So I took a deep breath, and read reviews to find a highly recommended off-the-shelf lard. This one came out on top. Still, I was wary.
When it arrived, I opened it and smelled it. It smelled pure, clean, and only faintly porky, just like good lard should. Unconvinced, I made a tiny bit of pie dough with it -- a tablespoon of flour, teaspoon of lard, pinch of salt, sprinkle of water -- and fried it crispy in a frying pan.
Folks, it tasted AMAZING. THIS is why you make pastry (and biscuits) with lard. SO flaky, so unctuous, and with just a hint of savory flavor.
I never make the time to write reviews, but I had to leave one for this lard. I'm a fan.
