My coffee from the French press was so yummy and strong and b A beautiful dark brown color

My husband and I decided to try this French press ( the sterling pro 8 cup double wall stainless steel French coffee press) for the first time while comparing it to our coffee maker. We used the exact amount of coffee beans, ground with the same grinder. The same amount of water from our filter and started them at the exact same time. We tried them first without cream. My coffee from the French press was so yummy and strong and a beautiful dark brown color. My husbands coffee from the pot was more watered down, and even looked different and the taste was very mild and weak. We added our cream next, the exact same amount, and my coffee was even more yummy while still strong and my husband's coffee from the pot tasted exactly like the cream...and very little coffee flavor. All in all, this French press was a huge success and way better. Not to mention the cleaning process was a breeze. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to up there coffee game. Or even just looking for a new French press as this is one of the best ones I have owned.
Makes a great cup of coffee! As expected!

There seems to be a fair number of folks new to the French Press process. I can tell you, they all work on the same principle. I had a glass one for over 4 years that I recently broke. This seemed like the right one to get and avoid that happening again. But the coffee tasted the same as this one, and that is great!
True, no plastic here. But my Bodum was a glass press in a plastic decorative container. The knob that you press down with was also plastic.
Never an issue, I don't quite understand the concern over plastic parts, but so be it. This one is all stainless anyway.
i also have some reservations about the double screens. It works just fine, but when I use just one scree as I always have the past, I don't get grounds in my coffee. The 'grind' is everything! Grinders vary, but you really need to use a rotary grinder with a wheel. Not a blade grinder. A blade grinder works ok if you just want a very fine grind for a drip coffee maker, but if you want something coarser like medium for a press, you don't want to use a blade grinder, the results are never consistent IMO.
Also, don't pour boiling water over the coffee. The water should be 'off the boil' or with a lot of bubbles just starting to break the surface. Use filtered water if possible. Mix the grounds gently around the top, put the cap on but DO NOT press down. Wait 4 min, press down easily, and Enjoy! I use 6 rounded measuring spoon fulls. With this one liter, you should be able to produce 3 average size cups of coffee, or 2 mugs filled about 3/4.

I bought the 1L European version ($10+/- cheaper?!?!) a couple of weeks ago and have been using regularly. The coffee is better tasting than drip/Kuerig coffee. This model is also aesthetically appealing (hotel room service-ish) and not a counter space hog. I bought an electric tea kettle too (Epica). I recommend that you consider one of these because the water is ready to go quickly and the "exact" amount of water is measued on the side of the kettle. The kettle is also multi-purpose...or so I have read.
I can't imagine how quickly the cofffee in a glass press would get cold, so the double walled SS would be my recommendation unless you're sharing or gulping the coffee. If you like more than a couple (relatively small) mugs of coffee or are making coffee for more than 1 person, I also highly recommend getting the 1.5 L model. The 1L yields about 2.5 small (my opinion) mugs and on some mornings, that ain't gonna cut it!
The only downside is that the cleaning is more intensive as some of the grounds get stuck between the screen/filter and the plunger base that it is attached to. Cleaning requires a brushing under running water to get the grounds out a minor pain in the neck. I am not an experienced press user, so this may be a universal French press issue.
As a side note, I actually bought the press as much for a cold brew attempt. I found that the amount of labor (in my opinion, a lot) required to create the concentrate was not justified by the small improvement in the coffee. But, that is not a reflection on this press!

This review applies to the 2 liter version of the SterlingPro French Press.
It's difficult to imagine how I could be more pleased with this press. Solidly built, attractive, and superbly functional, I love the fact that I can have a large mug of excellent coffee in the morning and still have enough to fill my 1.1qt thermos and my travel mug. I also like that the screens come apart very easily for cleaning and that I can throw the whole shebang in the dishwasher. Very handy.
Liking my coffee robust, I stir in the press for a bit with a bar spoon before steeping. After having broken two glass french presses doing that, the stainless press is a vast improvement. No more glass and coffee all over the kitchen counters and floors!
UPDATE 2/1/2018: Still going strong and looking good using the original filter screens. Top notch product.

Purchased this French Press as always loved the glsss Bodum but wanted something that was unbreakable and would hot coffee hot for longer.
Happy with product and makes coffee stay hotter longer if I use hot water to prep prior to adding grounds. I found previous video helpful regarding the bloom to open grounds.
Thank you for your great product and love the great coffee it makes. Worth purchasing at disc price offered for Christmas.
