Great entry level priced f.p.v.
MMG•November 1, 2017
Lots of fun for under 60.00 flys well, but heed the warnings to let the motors cool down between flights, or motors will die young. Better to buy two at this price and alternate them to allow motors to cool down, work well with cheap f.p.v. Goggles like quantums batteries are cheap and readily available.
If I do and the issue is resolved I will be more than happy to re-evaluate my review
Amazon Customer•October 25, 2017
I waited for several days after contacting the seller before posting this review. Unfortunately, I have not received anything back from them. If I do and the issue is resolved I will be more than happy to re-evaluate my review. First off, item arrived on time, which is always a plus. From what I could tell, the drone seems to be fairly sturdy. Once I was able to charge the batteries I wanted to see how the thing flew. I had watched several review videos on this model and was pretty happy with what I had seen. I powered the quad up and immediately realized it would need some trimming. Unfortunately, in a controlled environment, no amount of trim would stop it from flying back and to the right. My second issue is with the monitor. It will not fully charge, and dies within minutes of unplugging it. Again if I receive any help with these issues from seller or manufacturer I will gladly revise my review.
Okay, I have given the seller plenty of time to respond to my review. I have dropped my rating down to 1 star because there have not been any attempts to make anything right with me. The monitor will not even hold a charge now making it useless. I guess I will have to shell out more money to purchase another monitor so that I can get the full usage of this drone.

The drone is awesome. It is durable

The drone is awesome. It is durable, as fast as me riding a bike, and the camera is pretty good.
However, if you want to get the most out of this drone, take some advice.
First off, order some spare motors. They burned out on my second week of flying, however, that was probably due to me flying it nonstop for an hour or two each day. They don't take an expert in mechanics to repair, just pop off the top, unplug the motor and plug in the new one. Simple.
Second, order spare batteries. By ordering some more you can expand your flight time from ten minutes to infinite. Be warned, this is probably what caused my motor to burn out. I ordered ten and can fly it nonstop for over an hour and a half. I also recommend getting a multicharger as well otherwise you would need to switch out batteries every thirty minutes. They come with extra batteries in most cases so you can solve two problems at once.
Third, if you want to fly it true FPV, I suggest changing the camera angle. When you fly a drone forward, the front of it tilts downwards. The camera angle on it is already pointed downwards so when you fly you will just get a view of the ground and not what is in front of you. I hot glued a Lego to the back of the camera so it points upwards now.
If you do all that, then flying it should be really fun and easy for you. I paid 48$ for the drone, 12$ for a multicharger that came with 4 batteries, and 9$ for five more batteries.

Great toys for the money.

These WLtoys V686 drones were a hit with grand kids for Christmas presents -bought 3 of them. Worked as advertised and was not disappointed the fpv was impressive for the price point. Recommend buying extra battery packs to provide more flight time. Recommend buying crash kit with extra props as crashing will be part of the learning curve with most any quadcopter. The prop guards are definitely recommended. If wonder is it a DJI Phantom Drone then answer is No but it is not at that price point either. Again grand kids love these Quadcopters so that is what counts. I thought they were great too. Wish had toys like this when I was a kid. Think kids of today are very lucky to have so many high tech toys. Watching the grand kids smile and having fun was great and they play with these drones almost daily. :). WLtoys makes great products and are A+ in my book.
Great quadcopter...cruddy FPV
zeth1560•February 24, 2016
This quadcopter is very fun to fly and handles great. If I were just giving rating the drone, I would give it 5 stars hands down. Unfortunately, you aren't just buying the quad...you are also buying a FPV system...and that FPV system leaves much to be desired. The range of the video transmitter and receiver are pretty poor out of the box. In a wide open field on a clear day, I get static at about 100 feet and lose signal entirely at about 150. Given that this quad is pretty fast and sporty, especially at its higher speeds, it doesn't take long for your FPV to be worthless. Beyond that, the angle of the camera is pitched down to much to allow for a clear visual of what is ahead of you. You get great views of the ground, but unless you really know the terrain like the back of your hand, this isn't that helpful. That said, the camera itself is pretty decent and is by far the best stock camera I have encountered on any toy grade quadcopters. So if you get this drone, take my advice and ditch the FPV screen and just fly it line of sight. You will be happy that you did.
