It's Been a Good Pump For Over a Year
Jason777✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 9, 2018
This pump has been running for a little over a year on my reef. It is quiet and pretty easy to clean. It does need to be cleaned. The first time mine needed cleaning it would not restart after a feeding and the lights were flashing showing a jammed impeller. I suspect the soft start on this pump makes it more susceptible to impeller jams. Pulling the pump and giving the impeller a vinegar dip had it running again in a short period. Removing the snap ring on the impeller is somewhat difficult if you want to take it completely apart. For the price it's a good pump. I've been cleaning mine about every 4 months so if you have a system where removal is difficult you might want to look elsewhere.
These pumps work pretty good. I have a sump full of them

These pumps work pretty good. I have a sump full of them. One for return, one for my skimmer and one for my chiller. But, the only problem is is that they stop for anything. The control boxes have circuit protection box and they give you a code of sorts in flashing lights. If you have a blink of electricity, they shut off. Resistance is too high, they shut off, etc. In a reef tank with high calcium levels, that can be problematic. I have to soak them in white vinegar every couple of weeks to keep them running. My old pumps would run forever without stopping. But, these are super quiet and have decent pressure, so I still use them. They are fairly efficient and use less power too. They are so cheap that I keep an extra of each pump at the ready, so swapping them out is easy enough.
Great so far!

So far so good! I have recently (July 14, 2017 old one went out, received this one about 3 days later) had to replace my return pump on my 85 gallon reef tank. The old pump was also a jebao but was the older, smaller version. I bought the setup used and that was the second blue pump that had been used on it. I was going to buy a third but without knowing how long they lasted before, and reading some reviews, I opted for the larger, newer version. I'm currently running it on about ½ speed. I really like how quiet it is as well as how it slowly ramps up to speed so startup is very gentle and water doesn't go spraying everywhere (since the return pipes are out of the water when pumps are off). I have plenty of room to go up or down with flow depending on the needs of my tank setup and corals. Hoping it holds out and lasts for years to come!
So far so good. I received this today and it's been running ...

So far so good. I received this today and it's been running on my 65 gal reef tank running the 35 gal sump recirculating system for about an hour. I have a 2 outlet manifold and I'm running it at 75%. It is super quiet I can only hear the water flow from the overflow. I will leave another feedback in about a week if all is well.
Work better than Expected

This is the second unit I have purchased gor my 430g rig. I have been running Reeflo Gold pumps and just tired of replacing seals. The first unit was to replace the closed loop and it has been running great and silent

Replace the return pump today and to my surprise only run it at half speed. There is no need to gate output as I did with reeflo pump. It also is dead silent. I will be rebuilding reeflo pumps and selling them. I will purchase a 3rd DCT pump for the shelf as a spare. If I get a year or longer. Then it has already proven the cost of ownership

My original holdup was finding a DC pump that would be capable of the same output of the Reeflo Golds and these do just fine.

I run them extrenal and they have yet to get hot. My others were so hot, you couldnt touch them. I will pull them in 6 months and access impeller wear or anything else with a good inspection. I dont expect to find anything out of the normal. JABEO is building eally good stuff
