Good product but reliability seems to be a problem with this model.

I purchased this antenna and it worked great for a while. My old antenna got 10 channels and this antenna got 80, though much of what it picked up were channels I don't watch. Within a year, I started getting an E3 error signal which is common in reading reviews. Winegard sent me a replacement though it is very hard to get their technical support on the phone. I had to call for several days to get a human. You can leave a message, maybe they call you back. Once you do get someone on the phone, their customer support is fantastic.
The replacement antenna had problems as well. Called Wineguard and they are sending a replacement wall unit (the part of the antenna that has the buttons to tune it).
Had I not had issues with the product and had it worked properly, I would have given it 5 stars as it picks up a lot of channels and tunes itself (with the touch of a button) to the strongest signal in the area. I tried it while driving on a trip and it doesn't pick up channels well, only when stationary.
Installation, I had an RV place professionally install it but I could have done it my self fairly easily. It didn't fit in the same holes as my old unit so new holes needed to be drilled and the antenna attached. Then a lot of self leveling caulk. The interior box fit right in where the old box was. No extra wires or cables to run.

Works well but fails often

I just installed my third Rayzar. The previous two failed with an E3 error. Apparently the motor stopped working. This seems to be a common problem. The motor sounds different on this unit. So, maybe they are using a more substantial drive.
Antenna Failure

Bought this for my truck camper Sept. 2016. Used it, the best that I can determine, 5 or 6 times. Went camping recently and upon arrival tried to scan for TV stations but there was no motor sound as usual from the dome on the roof and the controller showed a E3 alarm. Nothing I could do would make it operate. Upon returning home I checked it out and found 5.7V on the wire entering the antenna. Removed the dome and there was a light on the circuit board but no measurable voltage at the motor wires during startup, reset or scan. I sent Winegard a email to their Help mail address and two days later I received a reply that said based on the diagnostics I did a new antenna was being sent to my address. 7 days later I received a NEW antenna (they didn't want the old one returned) which I swapped out and it worked perfectly. Sitting between two houses in Lake Havasu City I received 31 very clear HD channels. I'm very happy with this product and especially the service. We have allot of issues with things that sit out in the sun during the summer here with the extreme heat, which I supposed was the root cause of this failure. But still, all products that are designed to be exposed to the elements hot or cold should allow for this possibility and not fail. I recommend this product.
Total waste of A LOT OF MONEY

Total waste of A LOT OF MONEY. I replaced a perfectly good King antenna that gave me all the local channels I wanted in Central Florida for an expensive piece of junk (the Rayzar Automatic) that only picks up the signal for a bunch of useless channels and ABC & Fox. No CBS, no NBC, even when I rotate the antenna 360%. And for each different direction you set the antenna to, you have to allow the TV to rescan all channels, which takes about 4 to 5 minutes.
So I am going back to a manual crank antenna which will cost me around $150, as opposed to the $400 I spent on this piece of junk (plus $300 for installing it) that is the Winegard Rayzar Automatic. It already failed me once throwing errors E3 which forced the manufacturer to send me a replacement (free, it's fair to say) but I had to pay an installer an extra $150 to reinstall it (yeah, I am terrible with RV projects).
Just talked to a Winegard tech support person who told me the range I have in this antenna is not as good as some of rabbit ears ones.
I will also file a complaint with the BBB for false advertisement because everything the Winegard sales person told me before buying proved to be absolutely false.

We really like how it works

We had a electric bat wing that finally died so we purchased this one. We did the installation ourselves. The plate that came with it to cover the hole for the other antenna was not big enough for our hole so we got another plate. The installation went well. We really like how it works. You just push a button to find the channels. We have been able to find channels in the places we have gone and we get a good picture. We really like that we do not need to raise and lower the antenna.
