These bells have been amazing. I originally bought them almost a year ago for my puppy while potty training him. It only took him a few days to learn to use them. Almost a year later and he still uses them 50 times a day. We also adopted a kitten and she uses them too, so if you need something for a cat, this works as well. I've been trying to get a video of it, but the house is so dark where the door is it's hard to see. My cat and dog both stand there ringing the bells to go outside. When my cat is outside and wants inside, my dog will run over and ring the bells so we open the door to let her inside. These bells have been amazing. The only downside is that my cat and dog use them 100 times a day, driving me crazy lol!

Works great. My dog never barked to go outside, but originally we trained her to potty on the training pads in the house when she wasn't yet fully vaccinated, but used the bells to transition her to going outside. She picked it up in about five days, and uses them reliably all the time now. They are also not alluring to her to play with unnecessarily, which is nice because I was concerned she might chew them for fun. Sometimes she rings them when she just wants to go outside to see what the neighbors are up to, but that's a result of my tricky little dog, not the bells. :-)

My husband and I decided to bring home a Shepherd puppy as a little newlywed gift to ourselves. She was a feisty little one; so full of energy but also very smart. We took a few notes from some dog obedience training books and got her housebroken in around two weeks. She hadn't had any accidents inside the house after that. We thought we'd gotten it down for good. But as Ruby grew, she also caught onto some nasty habits. Whenever she needed to go outside to potty, she would whine and scratch at the door (OH DEAR). And if we still hadn't noticed her, she'd start barking really loudly. It was starting to become a problem for us and our neighbors.

I talked to my dog-enthusiast friends and asked them advice on puppy house training, since we really wanted a solution for this problem. One of them recommended that we buy potty bells and it piqued my interest so I decided to give it a try. The Golden Potty Bells were the best ones I had found online in terms of price and appearance so I hurried and ordered one. The package managed to get to me very quickly and I was very happy upon seeing the actual product. It looked exactly like in the advertised pictures and the quality was great; very nice and durable. The gold bells were definitely a nice touch (I made sure to order gold instead of silver). They just looked very pretty and aesthetically-pleasing. It was also convenient that we could just pack it up and bring it with us when we were visiting family.

Ruby caught on really quick, thanks to the little instruction guide it came with (and also a few tips we got from Cesar Millan for dog obedience training), so it was all very convenient for me and my husband. The bells were nice and loud and the bells didn't scare Ruby as much as I thought it would (she's very sensitive to noises, we learned). I also found the sound of the bells very much to my liking. We could hear the sound of the bells above the TV or the washing machine, too.

The Potty Bells have saved my door, my ears, and my relationship with my neighbors. It's a life-saver! Makes me regret I didn't buy this sooner. Buying it has been one of my best decisions ever.

I absolutely love this product and idea! My Border Collie is about 1.5 years and was really struggling with potty training. He would potty outside if we let him out often enough, but would go in the house if he happened to need to and the door was shut. Simply put, he couldn't figure out how to indicate to us that he needed the door opened. We started the training by hanging the bell on the door and told Patches to "ring your bell". It took him a few days to figure out we wanted him to nudge the bell, but he did figure it out. He began nudging it on command the following week. By the 3rd week he was ringing it on his own, even when we were out of the room! It's been about a month now and we've gone nearly the whole month without any accidents in the house! I was hopeful when I ordered the bell. I figured it would eventually work based on classical conditioning, but I honestly didn't think it would work this well and this quickly. After months of stress, countless packages of doggie diapers, and (before the diapers) nearly daily carpet cleaning, this has been the best result I could have ever hoped for.

I am amazed at how fast my dog caught on. I anticipated the arrival of the potty bells and prepared myself for how to use and train my dog by watching a few videos on Youtube with similar products just different brand names. It really is so very simple. Once the potty bells arrived, they also came with a set of simple instructions which I also used and implemented. First, I used a treat reward method, when introducing him to the bells. I placed the treat in-between potty bells and as he approach the treat I gently tapped the bells on his nose and praised him and gave him his reward. About 5-6 times later he understood, approaching the bell and tapping the bells with his nose meant a treat reward. Then I moved onto the door.

It took only a handful of times before my french bulldog understood that ringing the bell with his nose = door opens. I can tell he understood by the movement of his eyes. Looking at me ringing the bell then looking at the door open. I must have done this 20 times in a row, just so I get the message clear. Then I reinforced this by ringing the bell each time we leave to go potty. Before I knew it, later that night on two occasions he rings the bell with his nose, and off we go to potty. With a little bit of patience, your dog will get the hang of it too. I highly recommend "Potty Bells".
