The Jute cloth was purchased to help seed a hill of clay. The seed would not stay without some type of support. We scrape the hill, put as much topsoil on top as we could and then used Penn State seed. Finally, the Jute was put on top with staples and to date grass is growing quite well. Without the cloth I don't think that the seeds would've stayed on the hill due to rain. We watered the hill at least twice a day.

I'm actually growing Clematis vines on it. I hate the plastic netting so I thought I would try this.
I hope it works. So I am not using it for erosion control.
But it is what it is. and looks like it would do the job for erosion control also.
